  • Buy this bike it is well worth it
Style: 20" 40miles R1 White
I have had this bike since the end of October 2024 the gotrax r1 and let me just start by saying this is hands down the best ebike I have come across as far as value for money !!! I have put well over 1000 miles on this bike and it gets around 20 miles per charge on throttle only mode. It is user friendly and I remember when I got it the instructions were very clear and it was an easy to put the wheel in it came with tools as well. Let's talk about features this bike comes with a 48 volt battery up tested might I add making it acceptable anywhere that usually does not accept lithiom ion battery's as well as giving the user peace of mind (no one wants there ebike to become a suicide bomb so that alone is a huge reason to buy this bike it has 5 speed settings which are customizable in the program menu for peddle assist throttle is not effected by the pedal assist settings.moving onto speed this bike easily does 20 in full throttle and have gotten it to go 35 down hills there was no worry or speed wobble at those speeds and I was very happy with the balance and overall handling. The battery can be charged in or out of the bike and it comes with two keys for the battery and one charger which comes with a voltage regulator. The customer service of this company is unmatched I unfortanly had an accident on this bike about 4 weeks back now in which I cracked the screen it was my fault for being on my phone with one hand I have since got a phone holder but the craziest part with the screen cracked and I mean CRACKED PIECES LITTERALLY MISSING it still turned on and worked up until I replaced it with the new screen. Go trax does a two year warranty and all I had to do to get my new parts was to contact them via email to submit my claim including a picture of the problem as well as my order receipt number which is very easy to find on amazon. I must say as I use this bike every day I am so very thankful to the go trax support team for there quick response to my claim and getting the parts shipped under warranty completely free of charge! They really honor and value there customers which is rare for a company nowadays and I will most definitely be purchasing from them in the future I already have my eye on an electric dirt bike they make and am currently saving for it. i use this bike for Uber eats and for commuting to and from work so this has been a game changer as far as not having to take care of a car pay gas prices insurance registration or inspection fees. The only con I can add to this review is that after about 3 months of use the screen had a bug where when I would turn on the bike it would do its normal count up and countdown but instead of the display coming on normally it would default to the settings menu and wouldn't let me exit. I called Amazon support and they contacted go trax who said theyd replace the bike under warranty. Being that I use this to commute I didn't want to wait for the time it would take to ship a new one and decided to see if there was a way to fix the big myself. I spent almost two hours string different things but I finally figured it out and the bug also never left that screen but to anyone who may have the same issue you just turn on the screen like normal and on the control buttons on the top right above the light button when the number gets to 9 on the count up you press and hold and it will exit that screen to the normal display and function as normal. So even the only con I can list turned out to be a blessing in disguise because I realized no one could steal the bike if they had the chance because no one knew about the bug and how to exit the screen it was like having my own little extra security. Fortunately the new screen looks and works just fine I'll end this review by saying I highly recommend this and any gotrax product to someone who is looking for a product that will last and be confident about the performance thank you again gotrax for this wonderful bike and the a Mazing customer support ... show more

  • Very good electric bike
Style: 20" 40miles R1 Black
The media could not be loaded. I’ve been using this folding electric bike for a few weeks now, and it’s been a great experience. The bike is lightweight and folds down easily, which makes it perfect for commuting and storage in small spaces. The electric assist is smooth and powerful, helping me ride up hills with ease and saving energy on longer trips. Battery life is impressive — I can go several days on a single charge depending on how much I use the motor. The build quality feels solid, and the ride is surprisingly comfortable for a compact bike. Overall, it’s a convenient and eco-friendly choice for anyone looking for a portable transportation solution. Highly recommended for city riders! ... show more

  • Great ebike for beginners, easy to build
Style: 20" 40miles R1 White
This is a great bike! It is very easy to built, not very big so it can fit in tighter space, foldable. The best part of the bike is the durability and performance, I took it on a 7 mile ride today in a nearby trail, included different terrain such as Rocky Mountain road and normal roads, it performed really well in all situations, and very stable. Weight isn’t very heavy compared to to other ebike, and I like the little screen in front of the bike tracking speed and mileage. The power is also enough for a long ride. Definitely recommend to everyone! ... show more

  • for the money, pretty good
Style: 20" 40miles R1 White
Out of the box, the bike is packed well, as good as any bike I have seen. After owning a bike shop for 21 years I have seen a few. Assembly is straightforward with a few quirks. The manual needs some work especially the pictures. You might have to toss the front fender, mine was way off and after several times twisting it to straighten had to give up, although it does not rub now. Make sure to add a small amount of grease to the seattube, the handlebar tube and the pedals before inserting or they will rust and seize up. The front light and fender mount are off a bit, the bolt is not long enough to get the rear washer on with the nut, dont worry about that, just make sure to tighten the nut on the back not the Allen wrench on the front, this way you are turning only the nut, not the whole bolt. When cranked down the bolt is just long enough. My light is also turned out of whack a bit and without bending the mount a bunch it will have to stay that way, does not matter as the light sprays a wide pattern. My handlebars were not true to the front wheel, to correct this there are 2 5mm allen bolts on opposite sides of the front fork down near the bottom. Slightly loosen both of those and then sight your bars from a seated position with the front wheel and retighten the bolts, snugly, this is an important spot. My front wheel dragged the disc brake so I adjusted the brake at the brake lever on the bars, at the end of the cable as it enters the lever there is a thumb wheel and adjuster, both should be tight, mine were loose, anyway loosen the thumbwheel just a bit and turn the adjuster clockwise until the front wheel stops rubbing the brake rotor, then tighten the thumbwheel up with your fingers, no tools. If your brake rotor is still dragging as mine was there is another adjuster down at the brake, same as up top, turn is clockwise until the rotor is quiet. Mine was still dragging so I had to loosen the cable itself just a tiny bit as this is usually under tension and the cable can jump out of the clamp. Both the hand clamps for the seatpost and the handlebar will not stay tight unless you tighten the thumbscrew on the other side of the handle a turn or so until it is hard to clamp down the handle. Do not overtighten the pedals, they are made opposite thread so they will not unscrew when moving forward, just 20-30 lbs. If you are taller you will need to rotate the controls down on the handlebar so they are inline with your arms and hands if you, see picture, hard to explain. My wife is very short so out of the box they were okay. Do not overtighten these, just snug so they don't turn easily. You want them to move a bit if you crash so they don't break off. The tool set is adequate even has the tiny allen to tighten the screen up. Use the phillips screwdriver to move the reflector out of the way to get to the screws then retighten the reflector. The weight of the bike is not 46 lbs as advertised but since it comes with the fenders, lights and rack and comes in at 50.2 lbs I can live with that. ... show more
