  • Pretty decent bikes, Good Quality
Style: 20" 40miles R1 Black
We have 2 of these. My wife had one and I sold what I had and purchased a second matching bike. Good solid bike, includes rear rack, good throttle response, fairly comfortable, though I may replace the seats... Battery life is very good, we really haven't run them all the way down. I would have preferred that the bike have a derailleur, they're single speed. The folding feature is nice. We put a rear trailer hitch carrier (about 38x20) fold the bikes and cover them with a tarp for long trips. Everything just clips together when you unfold them. Key is kind of hard to get at on the bottom of the battery compartment. Allows locking the battery in place and also another position that locks it in place but won't allow it be be turned on. You remove the battery once you fold the bike in half, using the key. Easy to assemble and includes tools for assembly and maintenance. ... show more

  • Awesome bike!!
Style: 20" 40miles R1 White
I bought this bike a couple of months ago and finally took it on its maiden ride last week on vacation. I am impressed with the ease of the bike, its operation and overall ease of use. It folds up and fits nicely in the back of my jeep renegade suv. I am able to load and unload it by myself. (I am a 64 yr old female that hasn’t done a lot of exercising). It was a joy to ride and great value for the money. I’m now looking for an additional battery so I can go further on my rides. Highly recommend!! It looks good, I felt very safe with the fat wheels and it being a 20”. It was very stable to ride, because at my age we don’t bounce like we did 40 yrs ago and I was able to get the color I wanted. Overall great bike. ... show more

  • Great EBike for Daily Commuting!
Style: 20" 40miles R1 Black
I've been using the Gotrax 20" Folding Electric Bike for a few weeks now, and I'm really impressed! The 48V battery gives me plenty of range easily up to 40 miles on a full charge, which is perfect for commuting and running errands. It rides smooth and feels solid on the road. The pedal assist levels are super helpful. I usually keep it on level 3 or 4, and it gives me a nice boost without feeling like I'm not doing anything. When I need more power, the 500W peak motor kicks in nicely and gets me up to 20mph with no problem. One of my favorite things is how it folds up. It’s perfect for saving space at home or when I need to put it in my car. The LCD display is clear and easy to read, and the controls are straightforward. Overall, this bike is reliable, fun to ride, and a great value for the price. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable electric bike for commuting or everyday use. ... show more

  • for the money, pretty good
Style: 20" 40miles R1 White
Out of the box, the bike is packed well, as good as any bike I have seen. After owning a bike shop for 21 years I have seen a few. Assembly is straightforward with a few quirks. The manual needs some work especially the pictures. You might have to toss the front fender, mine was way off and after several times twisting it to straighten had to give up, although it does not rub now. Make sure to add a small amount of grease to the seattube, the handlebar tube and the pedals before inserting or they will rust and seize up. The front light and fender mount are off a bit, the bolt is not long enough to get the rear washer on with the nut, dont worry about that, just make sure to tighten the nut on the back not the Allen wrench on the front, this way you are turning only the nut, not the whole bolt. When cranked down the bolt is just long enough. My light is also turned out of whack a bit and without bending the mount a bunch it will have to stay that way, does not matter as the light sprays a wide pattern. My handlebars were not true to the front wheel, to correct this there are 2 5mm allen bolts on opposite sides of the front fork down near the bottom. Slightly loosen both of those and then sight your bars from a seated position with the front wheel and retighten the bolts, snugly, this is an important spot. My front wheel dragged the disc brake so I adjusted the brake at the brake lever on the bars, at the end of the cable as it enters the lever there is a thumb wheel and adjuster, both should be tight, mine were loose, anyway loosen the thumbwheel just a bit and turn the adjuster clockwise until the front wheel stops rubbing the brake rotor, then tighten the thumbwheel up with your fingers, no tools. If your brake rotor is still dragging as mine was there is another adjuster down at the brake, same as up top, turn is clockwise until the rotor is quiet. Mine was still dragging so I had to loosen the cable itself just a tiny bit as this is usually under tension and the cable can jump out of the clamp. Both the hand clamps for the seatpost and the handlebar will not stay tight unless you tighten the thumbscrew on the other side of the handle a turn or so until it is hard to clamp down the handle. Do not overtighten the pedals, they are made opposite thread so they will not unscrew when moving forward, just 20-30 lbs. If you are taller you will need to rotate the controls down on the handlebar so they are inline with your arms and hands if you, see picture, hard to explain. My wife is very short so out of the box they were okay. Do not overtighten these, just snug so they don't turn easily. You want them to move a bit if you crash so they don't break off. The tool set is adequate even has the tiny allen to tighten the screen up. Use the phillips screwdriver to move the reflector out of the way to get to the screws then retighten the reflector. The weight of the bike is not 46 lbs as advertised but since it comes with the fenders, lights and rack and comes in at 50.2 lbs I can live with that. ... show more
