OMG, I just have to share this with viewers! For some reason I have been forgetting I had my pots on the stove and literally burned them up. Well, I just put one of my new pots on the stove filled with water and forgot it, all the water boiled out and the pot was on the burner for over 40 minutes. When I got to the pot first thing I noticed there was no smoke!!!! I've never seen that, secondly, as I put the pot into the sink to fill with water to cool it down and to see the damage to the pot to my great amazement "THERE IS NO DAMAGE TO THE POT" I am so impressed I just had to share this look at the above picture this is the pot I just removed from my stove after all the water boiled out of it and it remained on the burner for over 40 minutes!!!! I will be purchasing more of these pots and they will be the only pots I use from now on.. Did you hear there was no smoke and the pan still looks new, do you know how many pots i've damanaged leaving them on the stove smoking up the entire house, what no smoke, that alone make this set worth buying!!!     • UPDATE Legit Non-stick but only for a couple months
UPDATE: Below is my original review. After using these for a while, they are not holding up at all like I’d hoped. I only use silicone tools, only wash them with a scrubber designed for non stick items, and don’t use high heat. Despite all these precautions, the pans have lost their non-stickiness. I have to scrub and scrub to get them clean. It’s infuriating. I’ll be tossing these and going back to Calphalon. ORIGINAL REVIEW:We’ve only been using these for about a week, but so far they’re awesome. I had calphalon pots and pans before, but after ten years the non stick coating was starting to wear off and it was just time to replace them. The non-stick coating on the Gotham steel pans is pretty legit- everything just slides right off of them. No scratches or chipped coating so far, either- I use only silicone cooking utensils and wash the pots and pans in hot water with no soap, using a plastic scrubber. That’s the key to not messing up your non-stick coating- keep soap and scratchy stuff away from it! I anticipate these will hold up well, as they’re pretty solid and well made. They heat evenly, and I love the red outer coating, too. ... show more

    • Deteriorate Quickly - Nightmare to Clean
I'm ready to replace this set even though I bough it less than a year ago and have only used them regularly for about 7 months. I've been super careful about not using too much heat, using soft materials to prevent scratches but they still happened easily and quickly. The pans are really hard to clean when things stick to them which does happen despite the "no-stick" coating. Overall I would avoid this set entirely - the look nice and function well at first but they quickly go bad and need replacing. ... show more

    • Awesome, but treat with care.
These are great pans, however, I find they need to be treated a little differently than normal pans and they should last a long time. First off, they are aluminum so they transfer heat very quickly and efficiently, I cook on a gas range and I’ve found I need much less heat I normally would. I’ve found a drip of olive oil will make the pans slicker than grease, I’ve had none of the sticking I’m reading in some reviews. For clean up it takes a light touch, you can brush away whatever’s left with warm water then gently clean with a sponge. I’ve had mine almost a year and the surface is like new. Lastly, just use wood, plastic or silicone untensils as the coating is a form of baked ceramic. It can definitely take metal scrapes but over time that will erode the surface giving you that, not nonstick feeling anymore. ... show more

I waited for a while before writing a review as I wanted to use them with different foods to see how they would cook and clean up. I can say I am impressed with this set. I made a pasta dish tonight with a thick cheese sauce. I deliberately left the pan on the stove after dishing up dinner so the sauce would dry. It took nothing but a wash cloth in the dish water to wipe it clean! My previous pans that cost over $2000 dollars would have needed to be soaked overnight and then scrubbed with a Brillo pad!
