I love this Solar Oven for the most part, but it is a bit overpriced at $499. The 12 volt plug melts on the side that plugs into the oven after repeated use and even though it's only drawing 120 watts. That power draw is awesome for an electric oven by the way. It runs great on my Bluetti Power Stations. Unfortunately, In my opinion, It's not safe to operate plugged into a 12 volt source until there is a redesign of that plug. On the positive side, I love how fun and easy it is to cook food using nothing but the sun or a 12 volt battery. This really does cook. It took about 30 minutes to heat up and then I roasted potatoes in 11/2 hours, which is about 20 minutes longer than in a household oven. It is very easy to set up and easy to clean. Enjoy!

I want to say so much that I love this “grill “, and truthfully I do like it. It has everything you need to get up and running except the sun! My concern is the flimsiness of the product. Don’t get me wrong the main part of the over is strong, but the parts that hold it together aren’t so strong. The legs are a soft aluminum and bend, which is difficult to move around as you chase the last bit of sunshine. The plastic rings that hold the aluminum legs easily fall off. Overall I like the over but you have to treat it like a China plate, very delicate. I will eventually place it on a large lazy Susan to make it easier to rotate, and probably find a way to sturdy it up a bit. The oven and the cooking is awesome, I love how it cooks. The media could not be loaded. This product can be a life changer when you don't have electricity you can still cook it may take longer conventional than conventional methods but you can still get your cooking done. This model has the option for a 12V input and that works well also. I used it for camping recently and was not disappointed. To me it need full sunlight or it will take a very long time to heat up. ... show more

The straps are badly designed it came off, fell off during first use! I am definitely not happy about that! I paid $538 for this oven I expect better design/quality in the straps. The rest of the oven is fine, I like it a lot, but this little simple thing is badly designed it just doesn't make any sense to me. why, it could have been done way better at no extra cost? I bought this oven barely a month ago and now its on sale price for $379 no price match? anything? I paid $141 more for a defect product! I am not happy paying $538 for a defect product. On my first use I boiled water and made pasta in less than 2 hours, I found some perfectly sized aluminum trays and can fit 3 inside the tube. My second use on a cloudy day, I loaded the over at 10:47am with ginger sesame rice, a baked russet potato and some liver and onions. At 1:45 the tube was steaming and was delicious. I wouldn't spend the $500 on this. I have used it twice now. They state that it can reach temps of 550 degrees... assuming they mean Fahrenheit...Maybe if you live in Death Valley?!? Haven't even hit 300F in full sun. The glass has manufacturers scratches which could be my issue but all the reviews I seen state this is the best. The scratches are not that big to affect it by 200-250 degrees is it?? Maybe it is? And they are over selling the device. 2 hours to reach 171F in full sun with the device dialed into point directly at the sun. Don't get me wrong it does cook but for the price you would be better off cooking on your car engine in tin foil. It's a $100 item at best and over sold. Don't even think about using the 12v plug to cook your food. The plug gets SOOOOOO Hot that you're more likely to start your car on fire than cook your food. Look else where for your solar needs.
