During our last family vacation we realized that the cat carrier we had gotten our cat as a kitten, no longer comfortably fit her! When I saw this carrier I thought to myself that this looked like exactly what we needed for our Chenelle! The first thing that drew my attention is the fact that you can unzip it from the top or the front, which is an excellent feature when it's time to put the animal in the carrier, unless of course they go on their own, which Chenelle would not do that with her hard carrier! I also really like the fact that it's collapsible, and easy to set up, take down, and to store away. It also features a soft outer shell walls, which is nice and comfortable for your pet. It includes a stabilizing "cushioned" bottom but it has a bit of s strange, chemical like smell when we first got it. We opted to leave it out on the porch for a few days to air it out, then put our own blanket in for her as the cushion is fairly thin, & the fabric isn't soft or plush so a loss of a star there. Once in, it locks the carrier in to place well. There is an adjustable shoulder strap and a padded hand carrier as well which would 20 lbs easily. If you have a pet that likes to ride in the car, you can keep the top undone to allow them more freedom and movement, or keep it in ace but the mesh allows them to easily see threw to cause less anxiety & panic. With our old carrier, getting our cat in and out was a pain, she was scared of it and could only go through the front entrance, I can't stress enough how much I love that she can walkin or jump in on her own without any panic of us putting her in. This has been a game changer for us & Chenelle! Hands down love the collapsible, soft sides & 2 zippered entryways compared to her old hard carrier with cage like entry that seemed to scare her. Overall, I would recommend this carrier for a small cat or dog under 15-20 lbs max, Chenelle definitely favors it to her old one and doesn't mind getting in or out so I'm one happy pet parent!

I have mini dachshunds and this is a perfect size for them and me. It's easy to carry and unlike other carriers where it said once picking it up, this one has a bottom that helps prevent that. I like the colors and it is well made.

As someone who has had cats all my life and now working at a cat-only shelter for 13+ years, I'd like to believe I've dealt with just about every kind of cat/carrier situation imaginable. When it comes to choosing a carrier for your cat, you really need to know your cat (some prefer to see what's going on, while others get more nervous seeing all of the world beyond their usual home views... some feel more secure being snuggly packed in, while others like the ability to move about). Assuming you've determined your cat would like to be able to see everything, then this carrier is great for that... as long as you have a smaller cat. The product lists a 15 lb. weight limit, but I don't think that is nearly as important as the overall size of the cat. My 2 cats are on the petite side (think more like an average 9 month old kitten) - the black one has a tad larger build and weighs about 9-10 lbs., while the orange one is slimmer and about 7 lbs.. They both fit separately in this carrier, but still don't have loads of room for moving about. Neither of my cats are difficult to get into a carrier, but if yours is harder to wrangle, the top loading option on this carrier will definitely come in handy. My black one got right in after I set this up, wouldn't let me take her out (biting attempts ensued, lol) or let the other cat check it out, and wound up napping in it for an hour and a half. So, I think it's safe to say, it's cozy and comfortable. In my line of work, I have used a variety of soft-sided carries and I would consider this one to be average or slightly above average (other than its smaller size). The quality seems good, the zippers work well, and it functions/contains each of my cats (individually) as expected. The things I personally really like are: 2 entry options, 2 carrying options, wash/wipe-ability, collapsibility for easy storage, zippered pocket (for vet records or other small items), the price, and most importantly, my cats seem to like it. The 2 things I think could be improved on are a slightly larger size and zipper connectors (I don't quite know how to explain this, but it's a plastic contraption that allows the 2 zipper pulls to snap together for a more secure closure - I've witnessed an anxious kitten work the 2 zipper system apart before and nearly escape, but a zipper connector would have prevented this possibility). Lastly, a tip for owners using this type of carrier, especially with a nervous pet or for travel... you may want to add a towel or puppy training pad if your pet is prone to accidents because while this carrier does include a soft, cozy liner, it likely won't be enough to absorb everything if your pet has a full bladder. All in all, I'm very happy with this soft-sided carrier for my 2 petite furry friends. I'm not sure I'd use it for travel or really lengthy vet trips since there isn't much room for them to move about. The price seems very reasonable for the size. I would recommend this carrier, but keep in mind that it isn't one size fits all.
