Really like this canopy! I have used it for several days at the beach in windy conditions and calm conditions. It has held up perfectly. It comes with 8 sand bags and plenty of rope to tie off. You can tie the rope shorter if you need or stretch the rope out for more leverage. I have total confidence in taking this thing to any beach, the sand bags hold a lot of sand and make it very stabile. When set up properly it is very sturdy. Set up is definitely a little more involved than a pop up canopy but the trade off is portability. Nevertheless I was still able to set it up by myself. This thing packs down pretty small which is great especially compared to a pop up. It doesn’t weigh much more than a fold up camp chair. It even comes with some stakes if you need and two shovels that work really well for filling the sand bags pretty quickly. I think this thing is a great value. ... show more

I wasn't to sure about it at first but it worked really well. We did stake the poles in buckets of sand instead of just driving them down into the sand and the weighted sand bags really helped. Bought this for my family of 4. Worked great! Went up easy and really held up to the winds. Liked that there were 8 bags to fill with sand as it really strengthened it. I have one of those sunshades that have all spandex, including down the legs into the sandbags. I figured this would be an upgrade for traveling, as the ropes should in theory be smaller than spandex stretchy legs. Turns out, it packs even larger because the sandbags are comically large, much larger than they need to be. The rope is also this weird double layered rope which takes up extra bulk even though the outer layer doesn’t add any strength. Maybe it’s to protect it from sand? Seems like sand is just going to get in between the two layers of rope and make things worse. To make things worse, the sun shade itself as much thinner than the one I already owned. Even though this one is darker color, if I hold it up to my window you can see that much more light gets through it. I don’t know that I would trust this to prevent a sunburn. It still provides *some* shade and the parts included seem sturdy. So I guess it gets some points for that. ... show more
