Have 5 of these around the house and garage. Wonderful to use, setup is trivial and the Home app is fine. Range isn't as good as some competitors - I have one on each of three floors and there are still some rooms where signal isn't full strength. It's not an issue in terms of speed or dropping out, but feeling the need to add one to the middle floor when I had one above and below was a little disappointing. Overall the delightful ease of use makes it worth it for me, a range boost for the next gen would be welcome ... show more

This router by itself was plenty good inside my 2200 square foot house, had good coverage and good speeds by itself, but I have stone masonry walls so I added two points so I could get a stronger signal to my back patio and tool shed. Very happy with it now, good solid coverage and I’m able to stream to my outdoor tv. ... show more

    • Replaced AC1200 router with AC2200 router…. (Cable modem net connection)
Overall Mesh speed increased 2 to 3 fold. The AC2200 range is significantly greater than the AC1200. Installation of an AC2200 as the router required the old network to be expunged, then reconstituted with the same name and password in order to avoid resetting access for all network devices. The Google Home software used to set up the mesh did not function properly until all nodes were unplugged and the old network was expunged. Each node was then added back one at a time. ... show more

Concrete walls REALLY decrease the range of these things. So, if that's your house, don't believe the asserted range. We need one on every floor.

It looked like a new model. The plastic bands that come on a new one were missing but, other than that, it all looked new. The box had no wear and tear. I can't say how well it works vs a new one but I know it speeded up my network. Great buy.
