  • Saving grace for poor Internet signal!
I had Comcast internet and I live in a Open plant single Story home but even so I have issues with my internet signal to every room. After I switch to AT&t fiber I thought that my signal was going to be stronger, it was not. However, the installer told me to get a mesh system and I choose this system and I'm really happy I did! I have a really strong internet signal to my entire house including my garage. The setup was very easy to less than 10 minutes for the entire system and I love everything about it! ... show more

  • Faster than EERO 6
Have both EERO 6 system and this Google system which does not have WIFI 6. Oddly this one (the Google Nest) is faster by quite a bit than the EERO 6. Have not had it long enough to speak to it's tech support quality, or it's stability. But, when the EERO 6 was installed it was blazing fast for maybe a day (over 300 meg down and full 30 meg up). But within a day or 2 the system would slow to 160 or so down and 20+ up. Not terrible but this is where it would stay. Very stable but not the speed promised overall The Google Nest however is a little slower at very top speeds depending on where I am receiving signal. So like the EERO 6 I would see fastest speeds (450/30) when device is closest to the Gateway. However the Google Nest Access Points show stronger/faster speeds 300+/25+ unlike the EERO 6 with 150+/20+ at the access points. So my informal conclusion is the Google Nest access points are faster and stronger than the EERO 6 while the "base" or Gateway unit of Google is a little slower than the EERO 6. But here to not by a lot. Topping out at 375+/30+ vs the EERO 6 Gateway topping out at 475+/30+ These results are based on an installation with the Gateway located in my basement oriented to the rear of my home and approximate center of the rear wall, one AP in a front bedroom at another end of the (long ranch style) home on main floor and the 2nd access point located at opposite end of home main floor toward rear of home. Sadly after only about 3 weeks of use things went haywire. Not sure if it is a fault of the product itself or perhaps the reason it was a "reconditioned" product. They caused constant interruptions to service. Even knocking the modem itself offline. Leading me to believe the issue was Comcast. A tech came out, he checked signal at my cable end. Said it seemed to be weak. Installed a whole new line, confirmed a good strong signal. Modem, and router(s) were all reset and seemed well until about 10 minutes after he left. Down AGAIN!. Connected my old Unifi WAP and while slower everything is operating normally. These things will be going back ... show more

  • Great product
This was a refurbished model. No directions. The web site asked for a qr code. The ones on the item are for shipping only. I was ready to return and found a very very small sticker with the QR code on it. The product works great with my current modem and router. Finally have internet all over the house. ... show more

  • Not as effective as suggested
The strength of signal should be greater in my house but the product specs for size must be over estimated. I bought the router and two satellite points to replace my old system and I have a dead area that suggests I need yet another satellite point to fill the house with wifi. Eventually, I will add the unit but I'm disappointed the coverage wasn't as good as suggested. ... show more

  • Works ok for me... now...
This review is for a refurbished set of Nest router and 2 extenders. I had read the negative reviews but decided to give it a chance, because the price was better than a new set. (In retrospect, I have since found this same set, new, on the Google store website for not much more and I kind of wish I had just gone ahead and bought that one. With electronics and airfare, you are going to get better support if you buy direct.) This one did come shipped without any protection - just the three units and their cords in a box with no padding at all. I could hear rattling when I picked it up - never a good thing in an electronics shipment. The router was a little bit scuffed up, but that's no big deal for me. No manual but a slip of paper with the URL for setup instructions, which worked just fine. My only hitch was that one of the extenders did not have a QR code, required for setup. (The other had a sticker with a QR code which worked fine). The instructions said if no QR code, enter the setup code on the bottom of the unit but the app wouldn't accept it. I could only enter the first two digits - it would not accept more and it was an 8-dgit code (instructions said it would be a 9-digit code). Well, I boxed it up, contacted the seller via Amazon, and the seller offered to refund or replace it. I decided to give it another go before sending it back, moved it to a different room, on a different day, and evidently "held my mouth differently" (old southern saying) and it worked right off the bat. So far I have strong signals all over my house, so I'm calling it a "win"! It's only been up for a day, so I'll let you know if I have problems later on. For me, the gamble seems to have paid off. ... show more

  • These three amigos keep me wireless…
I live in a big house. Not the Big House, but a large house. My wifi at the farthest distance from the wireless router was non existent. Boo! Maybe a hundred feet or so through a floor over the basement, through walls, air conditioning ducts, video and security system cables, in floor heating and electric wiring. And other things I don’t know about. Despairing over my predicament, I turned to Amazon where I quickly found the Google Nest Wifi Router 3 Pack. And, that’s not all! It was a refurbished product at a significantly reduced price! Wow what a deal. Amazingly, they must have pallets of these things all over the warehouse because it arrived the next morning. Even though it was refurbished, the box was sealed and the hardware was in unblemished condition. Setup was easy and now, through all the barriers between the router and the farthest corner of my house, I am able to stream kitten videos and music with no buffering. Now, my wifi is everywhere! ... show more
