Description
The Nest Thermostat E is a smart thermostat that turns itself down when you’re away. It helps you save energy and keep your home comfortable. You can control it from anywhere with the Nest app, and it works with Alexa and Google Assistant so you can adjust the temperature with your voice. Nest Temperature Sensor communicates the temperature to the Nest Thermostat E. You can put different Nest sensors in different rooms, then use the Nest app to choose the exact temperature you want the room to be, along with a time of day. And it’s simple to install yourself – just hang it on the wall or place it on a shelf. [1] Remote control and mobile notifications require working internet and Wi- Fi. [2] Energy savings are not guaranteed and depend on energy usage, weather, and other factors. [3] Independent studies showed that Nest thermostats saved people an average of 10% to 12% on heating and 15% on cooling. Based on typical energy costs, we’ve estimated average savings of $131 to $145 a year. Individual savings are not guaranteed.

Works great but hard to install
I have a very basic gas floor furnace in a small Cape Cod house we live in in the Summer. I got this so I can monitor the heat over the winter when we are not here. It is working fine so far, but I needed an electrician to install it. I recommend it if you are tech savvy and it has many great features, such as the ability to heat different rooms at different temperatures and at different times of the day (none of these are relevant to me since I have one floor furnace in the center of the house) but I really recommend professional installation to get it to work properly. I have not tried connecting it to Alexa yet. I recommend the item if you have help in getting it installed.

Solid product
This is my second Nest of this model, and I have found that it works perfectly. It is cheaper than the standard Nest thermostat, but it works just as well if you just need something to control with your phone. Installation is a breeze, and it functions very well. Tip: Before attaching the thermostat in the wall, charge it using a power outlet and micro-usb cord for about 20-30 minutes. Sometimes, it needs a "jump-start", and the voltage from the thermostat wiring isn't sufficient for that.

Great and easy to use
Works wonders when my smartphone is out of geofencing but I have a little difficulty setting up my wife's phone to work with the Eco temps. Probably super simple but I haven't discovered the secret to get both phones working yet.

TERRIFIC THERMOSTAT
I did a lot of research and realized the Nest E did everything that the 3rd generation did except learn habits.. which I didn’t care for. We use the remote room sensor all night for sleeping and it keeps the temp right at 70 degrees in our room. Also, no need to get out of bed to adjust temp or even turn off when you leave the house.. you can make all temp and on/off adjustments from your phone app!! Should have gotten this years ago.

A big disappointment
This thermostat did not work for me. I tried to set up a schedule which there was one on it from the start. I removed it and put mine in. I had the sensor also that I think worked fine I had it in my bedroom because it was always hotter we like it at 65-66 at night. I would have to continually re set it i hate it. It's coming out I just ordered a different thermostat and its not a nest!

Great Concept
Such a help for us to move the thermostat for the old heating system away from the line of heat from the new mini-splits. Love the history and all the information that it feeds to the app (on an ipad - nice for the size of the graphs). Moving the actual thermostat would have been a bear - but the install of this in its place was easy for a handy person. Thanks to our son for telling us about it! (one month in - working great).

Great Thermostat
Very easy to install but the instructions could be better. No phone support so you’re on your own. The key challenge is figuring out how to match the wires. I had to try different connections to figure out my blue was common and not Cyan on the Nest. Don’t forget to check if your local utilities offer any rebates.
