Description
This valve allows the system to switch between absorbing heat from outdoors and releasing it indoors (heating), and absorbing heat from indoors and releasing it outdoors (cooling). Due to the heat pump moving heat rather than generating it through combustion, heat pumps are highly efficient. So while Heat Pump units can cost more up front, they can also save more money in the long run by costing less to run than something like a Gas Furnace. Depending on the type and model, heat pumps can effectively heat homes in temperatures as low as -5 degrees Fahrenheit! Optionally, you may purchase a heat kit alongside this system. Heat kits are used with AC systems (in warmer climates) and Heat Pumps like this (in colder climates) to ensure consistent and adequate heating.
