I purchased this fan for my bathroom, which tends to get warm and humid after showers, and it has worked out really well. The retro design was one of the main reasons I chose it, and the matte black finish looks much nicer than the typical plastic fans you see everywhere. The all-metal construction makes it feel sturdy and well-made. Another thing I've noticed is that it doesn't seem to attract and hold dust the way some plastic fans do, and when it does need cleaning, it's very easy to wipe down. The fan has three speed settings, so it's easy to adjust depending on how much airflow you want. The oscillation feature helps move air around the room instead of blowing in just one direction, which is especially helpful in a smaller space. It's compact enough to fit on a countertop or table without taking up much room, but it still puts out plenty of airflow. FINALLY a reasonably affordable, substantial, attractive, well made piece of machinery that moves air. SO quiet. SO smooth. Excellent, A+ air movement. Good materials used. Fabulous color choices. Just enough design to fit with my mid century aesthetic, and subtle enough it will work with many more design styles! Seriously. Well done to the designers! Good Housekeeping came through. The cage latches are tight and hold very well. The security and safety is excellent. Cleaning the blades will require care as the blades are metal! Not plastic! A real fan! Good instructions. It wasn't clear where to place the grounding nut in the "stack" when attaching the back cage to the body though. I am hoping the machine has quality longevity that the desgin and materials deliver as well. After using for a week or so, I have decided it was absolutely worth spending extra I sort of didn't have for these. I'm sick of having to keep buying these in plastic and they wear out after a year or so, smell like plastic burn, the plastic blades warp, the rattling, the oscilation breaks, etc. It gets up to 110f during summer. Fans put off using the air conditioner in spring and the first part of summer. When heat reaches danger zone, fans keep air circulating, stress off the AC and the bill almost manageable. This purchase is a replacement for a Hunter table fan of about the same size. The hunter fan lasted a bit over 5 yrs (purchased in April 2020) and we were very happy with it, though hoping for a longer life. This Good Housekeeping branded fan seems good and sturdy, but only time will tell if it has a longer life. We run a fan on low all night every night during the summer. This fan is a few decibels louder on low than the Hunter fan, but we consider it acceptable. The assembly instructions were clear, and it took about 20 mins from beginning to end including reading the instructions along the way. One reviewer stated he initially put the fan blade assembly on backwards. Well, for this model (92603), that is impossible to do. The design and the manufacture of it make it impossible to put on backwards. It can only go on one way. There is a set screw for the fan blades and a flat side on the motor shaft that need to be lined up. It’s not hard to line up.We are pleased with the fan, the look and the sound. Only time will tell if it last more than 5 years which is our hope. ... show more

Now that I've got it assembled correctly, I love it! I had a really hard time fitting the fan blade onto the shaft facing the correct way. It was so difficult to put it on correctly, and so easy to put on backwards, that I thought the instructions might be wrong, but I was wrong! The fan blew in the wrong direction. So I took it apart and tried to assemble it correctly. It really was fiddly to seat the fan blade on the shaft, pointing in the right direction. However, once I finally got it seated, and the fan reassembled, it works great! It gives a nice breeze, isn't wobbly when fixed in place or allowed to rotate, and is quiet. The paint finish is nice. The chrome parts are good quality with no chipped edges. I'm very pleased! ... show more

I love this fan. Bought it for my laundry room to have some air flow for some of my clothes I hang up to dry. Fits perfect on my countertop. So nice, sturdy and stylish! Easy to use. Has a handle in the upper back, so its easy to carry/portable. 3 speeds and it oscillates.

Very nice fan. We ordered a $25 fan because of its very good reviews, but forgot that one must always consider the viewpoint of the reviewers. By that, I mean people giving inexpensive things very good reviews are used to inexpensive things, so their standards are lower than those accustomed to finer products. The $25 fan not only was flimsy and very cheaply made, once I assembled it, it simply did not work. I then considered a fan costing over $100, but this GH fan, at $65 or so, actually got better reviews, so I took a chance on it. Compared to many different items I've assembled, it's easy to put together. Just carefully follow the instructions. The fan looks good and has a nice, solid, somewhat weighty feel. The one downside to the appearance is the big, inelegant GH on the front, but most people don't notice that. The controls, air flow and functionality / operation are all good. The second reason I'd give 4.5 stars instead of 5 is that it's a bit noisier than a couple of 5 to 10 year old $25 fans we have! I suppose a $25 fan 5-10 years ago would cost, what, $35-$45 today, maybe. ... show more
