We bought a heavy duty fire pit years ago after we got tired of them burning up or rusting through. So we splurged and got something that would last. After trying many, many, many fire pit lids, I think this one may have a similar quality to our pit. It is the heaviest and thickest we have owned. Being stainless it should help resist the rust. Let's face it, you're setting these things on fire when used, so I don't think it will last forever. But I bet it gives us a good 5 or 6 years. Better than the typical 1 - 2 years we usually get.

Sturdy well-made stainless steel construction. With care this should last a while. You get what you pay for here.

The screen completely rusted through because it was made of low grade stainless steel. Highly recommend buying a cover due to the low grade stainless steel. Hopefully the manufacturer upgrades the stainless steel quality, because it should last a lot longer than a 18 months.

I bought this to replace a previous unit that was built without quite so high a dome. I used that for about three seasons and by that point the mesh grading had burned and rusted through and it was not doing its job. We've used this one over a fire pit quite a bit over the last 3 years. I would guess around 60 to 70 individual fires. And it's not showing any signs of giving up. It's a little less shiny, that's a good thing. But the mesh grading is still intact and it's super solid. I was a little reluctant to get this because it was so shiny and set so high on top of the fire pit. But once I started using it, I quickly got over those concerns. The high dome actually is a great thing because it supports our very shallow fire pit really well and allows the wood to burn without burning through the mesh. I highly recommend this for anyone with a relatively shallow fire pit But even if it was lower, I don't think we could burn through this mesh. It's very solid. It's made out of much stronger material than the others I've seen. The only objection I had with the design of the unit is that the handles were set up in such a way that they both landed on one side either one was high while the other was down while they were both on the same side. They didn't make any sense to me, so I actually took it apart and reassembled it so that there was a handle on each edge so it could be open from either side. That meant that the radial struts didn't align quite exactly. But I wasn't as concerned with that as I was about being able to open it for either side. You can tell from the picture it looks a little bit different than the one in the Amazon listing.

Maybe i got a wonky version, it happens, but the firepit screen i received wasn't round. When closed it just looked wrong on my Breeo Firepit, had more of an egg or eye shape. It really did the opposite of complementing the Breeo so it had to go. Mine also had alot of bubbly mesh issues, you could see areas that bulged out therefore losing it's round contour look. Otherwise the quality was nice and the metal finish was good. Opened and closed well.

I bought this fire pit screen for my solo stove (Yukon). Reviews were a bit mixed but I liked the functionality better than the Solo Stove options. Specifically I wanted something that I could open/close while in place atop. This product delivers. It fits very well and works perfectly. I’ve not had it long enough to comment on long term durability in the elements but it is clearly built better than other screens I’ve had so I’m hopeful it will hold up well. BONUS-this comes with a rock solid fire poker!!! If you’re in need of a screen this size I would definitely recommend this product.

There may be some firepit out there that this fits perfectly, but not mine. One heck of a nice, heavy screen, nice design, just slides off or falls off my pit. Going to figure out a way to mount or secure it. Drilling holes in the hardened stainless steel frame is almost impossible without a shop type drillpress and special bits and cutting oil. Not to be defeated, I will figure out a way to mount it or anchor it down.
