  • Money well spent.
Tested the stove out today before I put it in a tent. Very impressed with the construction and materials. Quickly reached 700 degrees using only small sticks. The damper and venting work well to control the burn speed and temperature. Packs up pretty small with everything inside the tent. Worth the price I paid, but would liked to have received guy lines for the stove pipe. Cools down quickly when shut down. Plenty of space to cook and side grills are sturdy. ... show more

  • I approve this stove
The stove is amazing. It gets very hot and was able to keep a 6ft tall tp tent warm on a 28 degree night. Had the stove burning for a few hours and then loaded a 4 hour log, 1 large log, and a few other pieces and 6 hours later it was still 50 in the tent. Like Tom said below, the cooking on the stove is difficult. The heat does pull to the chimney even when the damper and flew is closed. It just takes some time to get used to. ... show more

  • so far so good
I have not had a chance to use the stove yet, but I did open and inspect the product. It seems to be well made and should perform as needed. I will leave a more detailed review at a later date.

  • Awesome budget stove!
This stove is awesome for the price. I added two additional flue sections to increase the flue height and improve draft. With about a 11' chimney, this thing burned consistently and was easy to maintain. I had zero issues with sole escaping because the draft was so good. I love having the removable ash tray and the grate at the underside of the fire box. This really helps feed fresh air to the stove and prevents build up of ash from choking the fire out. The side grates are awesome for keeping food warm or drying wet socks. Removing the circular plate on the top of the fire box to get access to direct flame for boiling water or cooking is useful, and the draft was so good, no smoke escaped when I removed the plate. The fire ox is also big enough to accommodate the size of firewood you typically see at a gas station. I still split some kiln dried firewood, but I didn't have to saw any shorter, which is a huge perk. I'd buy this stove again. ... show more

  • Cool design and potential to be good but not what you would want out of the box
I have several pieces of Gonex gear and generally am very happy with them. Positive features about this stove are its high-quality stainless-steel build, its portability, and its possible use as both a camping and an emergency heat source during power outages. I particularly like the easy assembly, the strong riveted joints, and features like the cooking surface and ember catch. However, all is not sunshine and roses, stainless is not known for its durability when heated to high temps and even when the hottest fire I can build is going there is low heat output, which would seem to indicate alot of it is going up the chimney. The chimney top does seem to be getting dangerously hot as compared to other tent stoves I've used, and even worse, the chimney is not very secure out of the box. (I am working on fixing that for mine, but this is an issue the manufacturer should address for everyone) It is a compact design and has a cosy aesthetic, but I question its functionality and safety. ... show more

  • Definitely worth it!
This thing is amazing! Works fantastic! Super easy to assemble the parts. I put two pieces of hardwood and some kindling and let me tell you it was hot inside my tent with 10 minutes. I had to open up my windows to let some air in. After that I used one log and played with the chimney damper to try and regulate the temp. That part will take a few tries but once thats figured out, its good to go! I havent used the fire bricks yet but I will next time. Those should be better than burning wood. Everything was better than my expectations! Not to mention it gave a warm cozy feel to the tent. Worth the money! Great fit and seems durable so far. ... show more

  • IT COULD HAVE ENDED US!!!!
It’s horrible! First off, the thing cannot hold a 16” log which is what comes in bundles of firewood, secondly, it wouldn’t keep a fire going for more than an hour, some only 30-45 minutes. No real way to control the airflow because the ash tray below also has intake air vents that can’t be controlled. The whole stove gets red hot no matter what airflow setting you set it to. It melted the material around my stove jack in my hot tent which hasn’t happened with any of the other 5 stoves I have had in there. Got woken up at 11:30pm on the night before opening day for hunting season, completely unable to breath and my wife and I being choked out by smoke because the thing started to backdraft and blowing all the smoke out of the air intake right into the tent and filling the whole tent. We could have been hospitalized or worse if I wasn’t a light sleeper while camping. This is absolutely insane and extremely dangerous product for anyone to use. And after how hot the thing got it started to warp around the rivets holding the whole thing together and now the front load door won’t close properly. Even when I had all adjustable airflow shut it still burned red hot and refused to cool off until the wood was gone and the fire snuffed itself out. I believed the good reviews but I’m telling everyone else that’s on the fence about buying this particular stove… DONT DO IT!!!!! DO NOT BUY THIS STOVE!!!!! SAVE YOURSELF!!!!!!!!! ... show more
