Came in well packaged, added oil and fuel and started right up. Consistent starting on the water. Burns very little fuel. I did have to adjust the throttle cable to get a little more out of it. Motor was loud and definitely was not 5hp as advertised. The listing was updated to say 3hp after purchase. Thoroughly disappointed due to belief it was 5hp.

Averaged 4 to 5 mph on my pelican catch power 100. I’m 230lbs and with everything my little kayak weighed about 400 lbs. overall I’m happy with the purchase, it’s faster than my 65lb trolling motor.

Slow it has a governor that Max's out at 3.5mph and I have a small pelican bass raider 10ft 140lb boat but does start very easy

    • The ads was a lied.
It said supposively 5hp on the ads when i first bought it, but now the ads said this motor has 3HP. Should i return it thought?

    • Got what I ordered, and it was early.
The media could not be loaded. The Zongshen 5hp outboard arrived early. It was packaged exceptionally well, and undamaged in shipping. I assembled the tiller and mounted on boat. Added oil, upper and lower. Added fuel. Pumped the primer bulb 4 times, and it started on the second pull, and seemed to run perfectly. I will start the break-in tomorrow on the lake. So far I am very happy! ... show more
