  • A simple and effective swing and speed trainer
This trainer is much more useful than I initially thought. Just skip the instructions and review the product listing's images and dubbed videos instead. The golf axiom we are striving for is to reach our maximum swing speed just past the ball position. This occurs if we release the club at this point and this trainer will help you identify where this is occurring. If the weight slides and bottoms out at this spot and you don't hear the distinctive crack like Pro Heo Seok in his videos, that's completely fine. If your swing speed is slow, you may just hear just whoosh of the stick and only feel the weight bottom out. It's the feel that's important. The faster you swing, the weight will begin to make a thud, then a thump and finally maybe a subtle click. I found the two included Eighteen H images the most helpful in understanding how this swing stick works. The quality is excellent and the compact size makes it easy to carry and use indoors. As a decent golfer, I'm finding the 1/2 and 1/4 swings drills really useful for short game feel. I give it a buy recommendation. ... show more

  • Good training for a beginner.
Good training for a beginner. It works well but for $80 I think it should be adjustable for faster swing speeds and the grip size would be more in line with a standard golf grip ( it is easily the size of a oversized jumbo grip) The training aid is helpful to get you to release the club at the correct time and help you to stop casting. The weight is good and you can feel the weight slide and bottom out with a click when you swing it correctly. The directions are totally in an oriental language with no English version or translation, but there is a QR code on it . I was a little nervous about using the QR code but it brought me to a Korean you tube video and it showed you how to use it with subtitles in English, and I don't seem to have any viruses downloaded. Golf training aids are expensive so I think it is an OK value for the price but is mostly for someone that needs help with releasing the club at the correct place in your swing. ... show more

  • Won't change your game, but makes for good practice
First off, as others have stated, the instructions are only in Korean. This should be clearly stated on the product page. There is also limited information on how to properly use this, but I suspect that's because there's not much to it at all. On my very first try, I just heard the weight drop at the bottom of my swing, and that's it. It'll make for a nice practice tool to have in the house just for muscle memory but don't expect this to improve your game much. For the asking price, there are better options out there. ... show more

  • Nice training aid. Helps if you read Korean or have a Korean friend
This is a nice training aid that helps to ingrain a move where you snap your hands at the bottom of the swing and helps to avoid casting the club early. As first I tried it in the house with a little half swing. I heard the targeted snapping sound with the device about halfway in my downswing. That’s bad. Then I went outside and tried my real swing. I definitely had to concentrate on dropping my hands and then accelerating through the impact zone to get the snapping sound. I think this device is very effective particularly since it is an audio feedback, as well as you can feeel the weight in the tube drop down when you do it right. I need to see how well it translates to my actual golf swing. I’m not sure if I am just good at getting a device to work, or whether I am really helping my swing. The instructions are in Korean, so if you don’t really Korean you are out of luck. I posted a google translate in this review so it should help. Even better, there is a QR code that brings you to a YouTube video which is very helpful. It is also in Korean but there are English subtitles and those are very helpful. I recommend this device, particularly if you speak Korean. ... show more

  • Great for beginners to learn how to properly release the club; pass if you're already a good golfer
As an experienced golfer, I had a hard time understanding how this was helping me. I was able to get the tool to 'snap' at the very bottom of my swing every time and figured it was a bit of a waste of money. However, I decided to take it with me to the range and gave it to a few of my friends who have picked up golf recently and I was surprised to see that they had a difficult time getting the trainer to snap at the bottom of their swing consistently. I watched the video on Youtube where the creator explains how to use this properly and worked on drills with my friends and once they understood how to make the tool 'snap' something definitely clicked in their head and they started making significantly better contact with less effort on their swings. I would highly recommend this for beginners or even golfers who have a hard time understanding what it means to 'release' the clubhead but for golfers who already do this well, you can pass. ... show more

  • Not what I expected
This is just a tube with a spring loaded weight inside. Diameter of tube where the grip is installed does not simulate a real golf club.

  • Unrealistic grip, but does a good job at improving timing.
The grip is larger than a golf club grip, which is disappointing. Still, the trainer has sufficient weight to approximate swinging a golf club, but given its shorter length, it can be used indoors. The lack of instructions are frustrating. I concentrate on having the "whoosh" at the bottom of my swing, but that is the same exercise I use on a golf course, when I hold a club close to the hosel and check my timing. I thought that the QR code might lead to instructions, but instead it wanted to install something else on my phone. I like having this to swing during the off season, and I believe it is keeping my timing sharp, but precise instructions would be nice. ... show more
