Got my safe today and so far, it's ok for what it is. For the price, this is not as secured as a safe that costs hundreds, if not thousands of dollars more, so don't expect Fort Knox level security. But for its basic function it serves its purpose. Setup was very easy to do with the digital programming of your combination. I had that done within 5 minutes. And it does use 4 AA batteries that you install in a compartment on the back of the door. It comes with 2 keys to open the safe without the use of the digital keypad. Useful if the batteries die and the electronic method is not available, or you forgot your combination, or if the electronics fail. And for this very reason, do NOT put these keys in the safe itself. Keep them in a separate secured location for when needed. Overall, I would not store hundreds of thousands of dollars in it, nor keep your gold bars/bullion in it. Like all other similarly priced safes, it only offers BASIC security. With this type of safe, it would not take very much effort to open it by a skilled, determined thief. However, it is a good deterrent to the casual thief or a family member looking to get in. The walls of the safe were surprisingly thin, but they serve its purpose. The deadbolts are of good quality and ensure that the door is closed and locked tight. The floor mounting and wall mounting hardware included is a bonus to make the safe not as easy to carry away. Overall, the safe does weight about 5 pounds, so it does have some substance to it, but also would not take much effort to cart it away unless it's mounted on the floor or wall. So, yeah. This is a fairly good safe for its intended purpose. But if your goal is to have more security, then this safe, and others like it, may not be a good fit for your needs. Overall, for BASIC security of your valuables, wallets, credit cards, ect, it will serve the purpose.

It is described as a Fireproof safe.... but i believe it is only when you put the fireproof bag inside of the safe! They should explain that in more detail when you click on it in the description. Otherwise..... People will just assume no fire can get inside this safe. Otherwise, this is a solid & safe safe for storing valuables..

The picture on the screen is not what it actually is. The bolts on this are way less thick, and the sides are really thin, so much so that it would be easy to break into. Maybe I just got a bad one, but on mine it was really hard to unlock the safe with the key, and the battery case kept falling off when I closed the safe which made the batteries fall out. Also the keypad kept turning off randomly (even though batteries were brand new), which is very annoying. The alarm is not loud at all. I would not recommend buying this safe at all.

Item came timely and in good condition. Batteries did not come with so I got batteries to put in. I must have locked safe and keys not around so for some reason I must have put them inside. There is a key code and I was trying to contact to get a replacement key. No luck. Only way was to initiate a return with same item. Hopefully the replacement would have same key. I am sure many do. I informed my wife we will send back as I must have locked keys in the safe before setting the combination. Next day wife found the keys. It appears when I went to get the batteries in another room our cat decided to play with them and hauled them away. Opened up the safe an now all is good. They say waterproof and fireproof. I am not sure how long fireproof and waterproof is not really possible as there are holes in back and bottom for mounting. Good to have the mounting holes, but that would allow water in the safe. A fireproof bag is included for extra fireproof? Not sure if the bag in the safe is what makes fireproof or not. The bag does not state waterproof so nothing would indicate this is waterproof. When the keys were missing, I looked at you tube and several videos how to open a cheap safe. Like pounding on it and the video showed why this worked. I took off the lock cover to see how this one was made and it is better and would not be able to be opened with a bank on the top, or dropping on to a cushion like the videos. I would give a 4 star for price and quality of the product, but 0 customer support lowered that to a 3.
