I've been taking this for about a week, and just got up to the full dose of 1.5tsp twice per day. The main reasons I wanted to try MSM were to help my skin, gums and hair growth, and also energy and joints. I just turned 40 and want to prolong my health and support my body as much as I can so I don't age as quickly. I wanted to write this for people who are just starting out and might be put off by the reports of bad taste or side effects. First, I started out with just 1/8 tsp, once per day, then the next day twice. Then the next day doubled to 1/4 tsp twice per day, next day doubled to 1/2 tsp twice, next day doubled to 1 tsp twice, next day 1.5 tsp twice. I weigh about 150lb and they suggest 1 tsp per 100lb of body weight, so that's how I determined the dose. I take it each day with 1000 mg vitamin C powder mixed with 16oz of water, put the crystals under my tongue, then down the water. Then I chase that with another 16oz of water. This method works well and I don't really have to taste it too much. If you're used to taking supplements that maybe don't taste so good, or if you're a healthy eater, this is not a big deal at all. I was really scared that the taste would be too much to handle based on the reviews, but taking it this way, it's no sweat. I already drink a lot of water, but since I take each dose with 32 oz of water each, I don't feel the need to drink any more than I usually would during the rest of the day and I feel fine. If you're not much of a water drinker, you'll need to become one or just do what I do and get er done. I have experienced zero negative side effects so far. Stepping up the dose gradually probably helped with that, but I also lead a very healthy lifestyle and have a very clean diet, so that may have also been a factor. It's too soon to tell how well this is helping my skin/gums/hair/joints. However I feel FANTASTIC since I've been taking this! I FEEL the energy! It's a good, healthy, happy feeling, not like caffeine, but like a 9 hours of sleep a night, good-living sort of feeling. I feel really motivated and have a sense of deep well-being. I take the first dose upon waking and the 2nd at 3pm and haven't had any problems with sleep. Will update after a few more weeks or months. If you were hesitating, I'd encourage you to give it a try! Take it with vitamin C. Dump it under your tongue. Chase with a bunch of water. Step up gradually. Feel great! **Update 8/21** I’ve been taking this at the full dose for a little over a month now, and my skin looks fantastic. I already had nice skin, but it’s getting even better. It seems softer and more plump and bouncy, especially my face. It’s seems even more youthful and glowy. Just finished the first bag and ordered 2 more! **Update 11/21** I now take 2 tsp in the morning one time per day, as I’m taking some other supplements and can’t practically take a 2nd dose. Still experiencing good results. I notice that my eyebrows seem a little thicker and I have a lot of baby hairs around my hairline.

I don’t usually write reviews but this stuff really works. My sister recommended this product raving about how it helps with so many problems. I read the reviews so I bought it but due to the taste, I only used it once in a while and not consistently. I am 57 years old and I like to rock climb and to be active but activity at my age comes with a price. Often, after being active, my joints hurt, my knees are stiff and my lower back and hips are problematic. Recently, my knees would go weak and buckle. I was walking up and down the stairs like Frankenstein and needed to hold on to the banister. Lately, I was also falling a lot because of my buckling knees. I told my sister about my issues and she asked me if I was taking the MSM crystals. Honestly, I had stopped taking it and had forgotten about it. At this point, I had nothing to lose so I started taking it that night and in the morning. By the afternoon, my aches and pain and stiff joints were gone! I was feeling almost completely normal. From now on, I’m stocking up on this miracle stuff and will take it on a regular basis. I was getting really worried and in despair about this pervasive pain that stayed with me and was wondering how I would get by. Now, because of MSM sulfur, I can be normal again. I am really thankful and will tell all my friends and family about it. I don’t care about the taste anymore. Worth it since it works! I take lots of supplements, fish oil, turmeric, Cosamin, vitamin D, vitamin b12 and none of those had the same noticeable effect as this. I urge anyone with joint pain and stiffness to take this, it will change your life. Because our bodies are different, give it a chance. If you purchase it, make sure you follow the instructions and take it consistently and finish the bag since you already invested in it. You will be surprisingly amazed.

I waited until I tried the competition before I wrote a review so I had something to compare it to. The other brand I tried is from Raw Power which is here on amazon. This one is 2 pounds for $55 and the Raw Power is 2.2 pounds for $40. This one might be a higher quality, the crystals are larger. My complaints are mostly subjective and based on my personal experience from my bodies reaction. This version, while it looks good, makes my body feel 'icky' for some reason. Despite that I consumed the entire bag before trying the other brand so I thought that was just normal. For the beginning it might have been some detoxing but I took the entire bag over the course of several months and the feeling of sickness never stopped. The Raw Power version while it looks cheaper (smaller crystals) actually makes me feel refreshed when I take it and is much more pleasurable. It is plant based, so maybe that is why it has a different effect on my body. This feeling comes on quickly and lasts for an hour or two unless I eat something. I also find the smaller crystal particles dissolve much more rapidly, which is a nice side note. It doesn't taste as strong when I drink it either. I'm still giving this a 4 ⭐ review because I think it helped me a lot when I first started taking it. It helped me with a deficiency that probably everyone suffers from. I saw improvements in my health, hair, skin, nails, digestion and many other facets of my life. Subjectively though I feel the other brand is more easily absorbed and that my body enjoys it much more. I won't be buying this brand again because I find it too expensive, I also find that personally my body doesn't seem to agree with it as much as the plant based alternative. It is still very good and useful and if it's what you want good, enjoy! 👍
