I’ve been using the Godox V1-S for quite some time now, and it’s honestly one of the best gear purchases I’ve made. The light quality is beautiful — super soft and flattering, especially for portraits. Battery life is insane; I can shoot all day without worrying about swapping it out. It’s taken a few bumps in my camera bag and still works like new. The magnetic accessories make it so easy to switch things up on the fly, and the wireless setup with my other Godox lights has been totally seamless. If you’re debating it, just get it. This is the best flash that GODOX has ever made. The exposures from one shot to the next are the most accurate and consistent of any model they have made. On the older flashes for some reason the first flash if you did a series of three or four flashes the first one would be not all that accurate and the color might be off not bad but just enough to be aggravating on this new flash the first shot is just as accurate as all of the rest of them and the color is excellent. They make three different roundhead flashes, but you wanna make sure that you get this model the first two round head Flashes also had the problems but this latest flash has fixed all that this flash is top notch and I highly recommend all my experience is from shooting events. ... show more

I recently use this flash to shoot a wedding as an on camera flash for my primary camera and a controller for two Ad 200 pro off camera flashes. In real world use, this flash is easy to use, powerful and has a long battery life. As some have mentioned, it you are running and gunning it is possible to bump the flash and change the screen. I didn't find that to be to much of a problem because with a touch screen it was easy to navigate back or make what ever changes I wanted. Also some have given the included sub flash a bad review. I’m fairly impressed this far, tho only have had it 3 weeks. Feels more durable than the V1 model - slightly more secure hotshoe. I did have a few hiccups connecting wirelessly to my remote AD200 - although it connected easily it took awhile for the remote to match the settings I dialed in. Just upgraded from the Godox V860ii for Sony and what a difference!!!! This thing is incredible! It’s way better than I could’ve imagined! So much easier to use than the others making the functionality a 10 out of 10. Controls are touch and that’s always a plus. Excellent sync speed, the brightness is superb. Just received it this evening so I can’t honestly speak to the battery life just yet. I recommended this flash to every photographer reading this. There is no other option. This is it! Get it! Really love this flash. I bought it at first release, and quickly discovered a big problem: the settings would change because the touch screen wouldn't effectively lock. 3 weeks later, Godox issued an update with the perfect fix.
