Set name: V1 mid for Canon

Features

  • [Upgraded 24mm Optics vs Godox V1 Limit] Unlike the classic Godox V1 for Canon which is limited to 28mm, the upgraded Godox V1Mid features a wider 24mm optical start to eliminate vignetting on standard zoom lenses. The revolutionary 2-inch OLED Color Touch Screen brings Godox flash workflows a smartphone-like efficiency, allowing users of this flash for Canon to slide-adjust power instantly, offering a modern alternative to the traditional Godox V1 button interface.
  • [650+ Pops & USB-C Charging]Powering this V1 MID Godox speedlite is the new VB22 Li-ion Battery (7.2V/2200mAh). Through optimized energy management, it delivers 650+ full-power flashes, significantly outlasting the heavier Godox V1 Flash for Canon (480 pops). Featuring Direct USB-C Charging built into the battery cell, this Godox V1 MID eliminates the bulky charging dock required by Godox V1 owners, defining a new standard for travel lighting.
  • [Godox V1MID Magnetic-Ecosystem] The Godox V1MID retains the standard round head diameter of the Godox V1 flash, ensuring seamless compatibility with your existing AK-R1 accessories (Dome, Gels). Due to the ultra-compact V1 Mini body design, this godox flash DOES NOT FIT the older S2 Bracket. Please use the new Godox S3 Bracket. NOT COMPATIBLE with the ML-CS1625, AK-R22, or AK-R21, note that the AK-R1 Snoot requires a separate adapter ring.
  • [Full E-TTL II for Canon Mirrorless Scenarios] Engineered specifically for the EOS R system, this Godox V1 MID for Canon fully supports E-TTL II, High-Speed Sync (1/8000s), and TCM conversion. Its lightweight 413g form factor creates the ultimate "Run-and-SHOOT" lighting setup for Canon EOS R5, R6 Mark II, R8, R10, and R50 cameras. It is the ideal choice for wedding receptions, travel vlogging, and street portraits where the heavy bulk of a traditional Godox V1 would cause wrist fatigue or imbalance.
  • [Wireless Master for Godox V1 System] Built-in 2.4G Wireless X System allows this Godox V1 MID for Canon to function as a Master to control other Godox V1 or AD strobes, or as a Slave controlled by godox XPro, godox x3, godox x3 pro triggers. With stable 55Ws output and 1.7s recycling, the V1Mid balances portability with event-grade performance, making it the perfect lightweight companion to your existing godox AD200PRO II , Godox v1 pro, Godox v100, Godox V860 III, Godox V1 for Canon setup.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I’m absolutely thrilled with the Godox V1 flash. This little powerhouse is a game-changer for my photography kit. It’s super compact and incredibly lightweight, which makes it very easy and comfortable to use for long shooting sessions. I love how simple it is to set up and work with, and the quality of light it produces is fantastic. • Excellent Flash: Lightweight Design with Intuitive Controls
Set name: V1 mid for Nikon
The media could not be loaded. Excellent flash! This version is much more comfortable than the larger V1. Being more compact and lightweight, it feels much better in hand. The digital display makes menu navigation significantly more intuitive. Although it has slightly less power, for my workflow, I don't find myself missing it. It has all the necessary features to perform perfectly, making long workdays feel less exhausting. It is the perfect companion for my V480. • V1 Mid? No, V1 AWESOME!
Set name: V1 mid for Canon
The media could not be loaded. This is really a pretty awesome flash from Godox. It carries the V1 moniker, but it is significantly LESS powerful than any previous V1 model, coming in at 55W instead of 76W. With that said, this is now my go-to event flash. 55W is a very manageable size, with plenty of power for shooting indoors at f4 to f5.6 and at lower ISOs. So why call it a V1? The camera head on this flash is very similar to that of the V1 and V1 Pro, which allows all of the accessories designed for the V1-series to also work on the V1 Mid. Especially items like the AR-K1 accessory kit. The biggest upgrade this V1 MID has over previous V1s is the digital interface. There may be some that don't like this, but I honestly love the Godox digital swipe screen interfaces. There is a power button, test flash, and adjustment dial with a "set" button in the middle. The adjustment dial is nice for quick adjustments to things like flash power. A simple swipe down gets you to the main menu, while a swipe left gets you to the "flash mode" menu. The V1 MID comes with all of the advanced features you would expected on a premium flash. A modeling lamp, TCM for each switching out of TTL to manual, front curtain sync, rear curtain sync, high speed sync, S1/S2 slave modes, sender mode (to act as a flash trigger for other flashes), receiver mode (to operate off camera from a trigger), and more... There's no "typical setting" I can find that is missing. One note I will mention, High Speed Sync does not work on many Canon mirrorless cameras, and you should check the compatibility list on Godox's website to confirm. High Speed Sync does not work on my Canon R50, but I rarely find myself needing to use it, and carry ND filters to compensate if required. The only thing I have found missing from this is a belt loop on the carry case. The carry case will keep the flash protected in a bag, but it will not connect to your belt. I think this is a bit of an oversight. The flash color quality is good, as is the build quality of this unit. I find myself reaching for this unit more frequently now because the recycle time (even for 55W) is quite sufficient for the work I do, and the weight is much lighter than larger flashes. The value proposition for this V1 MID is quite good, and I think this flash will meet the needs of 90%+ of shooters. ... show more

  • Godox V1 MID: Anything but "mid"
Set name: V1 mid for Canon
If you've been reading my other reviews or keeping up with my blog, you know that I'm a Broncolor and Profoto snob — but lately, Godox has been winning me over, specifically with their triggers (which Broncolor licenses for their RFS protocol in recent years). Their ecosystem has been seamless across all my testing between the X3, X3 Pro, and their wide variety of compact speedlight options (iT22, iT30, i32, etc) — nearly every speedlight has a built-in Tx/Rx module and they all just work seamlessly together, regardless of brand-specificity. This means I can trigger all my other speedlights so long as the hotshoe light or transmitter mounted on my camera is the correct brand — at least in manual mode. TTL off-camera flash is another story. Now, I'm not sure that "mid" was the right name to give it given the word's current connotation among the younger generation, but this speedlight is anything but "mid". It (almost) directly competes with the Profoto A1/A1x speedlights (of which I'm a big fan), as well as its bigger brother (or predecessor?) the original Godox V1. The main differences between the "Mid" and the original V1/V1 Pro are power output, the touchscreen, and the wider zoom/beam spread. The V1 MID outputs 55Ws of power, placing it at about the mid-range when compared with the original V1 and higher-end OEM and Profoto speedlights, which can output 75+ Ws of power (okay, _now_ the name makes sense). In practice, this doesn't actually hurt unless you find yourself routinely using HSS or shooting through modifiers during the day where you might want that extra bit of power. The original V1 has a zoom range of 28mm to 105mm, while the "Mid" sports a 24mm-105mm range, allowing you to cover a slightly wider area — particularly useful in tighter spaces where you need maximum spread. The biggest thing you'll notice is the 2-inch OLED color touchscreen on the rear. Instead of memorizing button combinations or cycling through menus with a scroll wheel, you can quickly tap and swipe between settings. The screen is bright enough to see in daylight, and allows you to see and control everything at a glance. This is genuinely useful for fast-paced shooting like weddings, events, or street photography where you need to make adjustments on the fly without taking your eye off the subject for long (Though, if you've built muscle memory with your current speedlight, there's going to be a learning curve and maybe some frustration.) The touchscreen interface includes both on-camera ("Wi-Off") mode (when the flash is mounted directly) and "receiver" mode (for off-camera), plus "sender" mode for controlling other Godox V1 or AD strobes wirelessly through the 2.4G X system. This makes it incredibly versatile as both a primary light source and a wireless trigger — essentially combining the functionality of a speedlight and an X3 transmitter for your other lights. Build quality follows Godox's recent trend toward professional-grade construction. The magnetic dome diffuser system from the original V1 carries over, and the round head remains compatible with the existing ecosystem of V1 magnetic modifiers — grids, gels, barn doors, and various diffusion options. I was also surprised to find that it works wiht my existing Profoto Clic accessories and clic softboxes, which is a HUGE plus for me. The VB22 battery is nearly identical to the original V1 with a slightly smaller capacity and lower weight, delivering 650+ full-power pops and 1.7s recycle time, with USB-C charging built into the battery cell itself. This eliminates the bulky charging dock required by Godox V1 owners and streamlines the whole experience. You can also charge the battery directly from the USB-C port on the flash unit while it's installed, which is great during downtime to make sure you're always topped off. One oddity i noticed is that while there's a spring in the battery compartment, there is no retention in the battery compartment/door area, so you kind of have to both shove it in there and close the door at the same time, which seems like an oversight. The lightweight body (415g vs the V1's 530g) makes this significantly more portable than the original V1 — a welcome change for all-day wedding shoots or travel photography where every gram counts. For Canon EOS R shooters specifically, this delivers full E-TTL II functionality with high-speed sync up to 1/8000s and support for TCM conversion, making it perfect for run-and-gun scenarios. You shoot TTL to get in the ballpark regardless of current settings, and switch over to manual for fine tuning. This is a workflow i've relied on with my Profoto strobes for the better part of a decade, and it's a very nice way to work. For photographers who need professional features without the bulk — wedding photographers, street photographers, location portrait photographers wanting decent output in a manageable package, or event shooters who value quick adjustments for rapidly changing scenarios — the V1 "MID" hits the mark perfectly. At $179, it's positioned right between really budget options and high-end premium alternatives like the Profoto A1X ($1000!). Yes, you're giving up a some power compared to the original V1, but you're gaining a genuinely better user interface and wider zoom coverage. For most shooting scenarios outside of overpowering harsh sun or large modifier work, 55Ws is usually going to be enough. The only real limitation is that the smaller battery capacity compared to some competitors means you'll want to carry spares for long events, or make use of the USB-C charging — though at this price point, buying an extra battery or two won't break the bank. If you're already invested in the Godox ecosystem, the V1 MID is an obvious choice for a primary on-camera speedlight. If you're considering making the jump from OEM flashes, this is a compelling entry point that demonstrates why Godox is eating everyone's lunch in the budget/prosumer flash market. ... show more
