I have 2 rectangular soft boxes that just weren't giving me the light that I needed. This one gives great light for a photo shoot. I also used it for some head shots on location and was able to set-up quickly because of how easy it is to pop this softbox open and then close down after your shoot. Good strip boxes, but not portable. Best suited for someone who doesn't need to conserve space and can leave them assembled. The rods insert into the holes with the number 2, and go together easy enough. Removing them is a bit of a challenge. These are not ideal for building on location but it can be dont in if needed just allow for extra set up and tear down time when scheduling your clients. ... show more

    • Difficult to assemble...impossible to disassemble...but, otherwise, good modifiers

There's a reason these 30cmx120cm boxes are cheaper than some of the alternatives....they're very simple...heavy duty silver fabric over black with a velcro backing and universal Bowen's mount. But...no instructions, so it is far from clear which holes to use and, once you have all four poles in place you're pretty much stuck as it is near impossible to remove the poles without tearing the fabric. To be fair, they are effective soft boxes and it's a nice bonus that they come with grids when others (I'm looking at you Westcott...I use your lights) charge around $50 just for a grid (and $200 for each box)...so the price is good. Fortunately I have a large storage closet I use for photo stuff and I can leave these assembled all the time. I don't want to have to fight them every time and ON DAY ONE I have already created a small tear at the base of the velcro (around the mount) of one and slightly bent two poles from applying too much force when trying to disassemble. Bottom line...as others have said, not great for transporting (set-up and tear-down) but the price and included grid mean I have more money to spend on lights and other photo paraphernalia. ... show more
