  • Really nice but not as bright as you would expect.
I have other goal zero products. I have a yeti 150, a boulder 50, and a couple other little power Banks. This goal zero lighthouse core is small compact. It's nice that you can have a directional light you can light up one side or both. It has a USB charger that you can plug directly into a source. it also has a USB port you can charge a device at the same time that you are charging up your light battery. It's compact it has a little handle on top. the only reason I give it 4 stars has it's not super bright it's not as bright as I thought it would be. But overall the product is extremely well product it's well-built the battery lasts a long time. I keep it in my house mainly because we do have power outages occasionally and salt lake. Would I buy again probably not. ... show more

  • Bright light
Great product. Lasted all night camping. Brighter than most lanterns of the same size. I still had to use other lights to light our set up. Sturdy product.

  • No on & off switch.
It does a good job when you want it on, but it needs a way to turn it off - not just wait till the battery dies.

  • Mood lighting for my camper
Extremely adjustable, non-harsh light in a rechargeable lantern. It makes a soothing alternative to the glaring LED lights in my truck camper. The charging cord is built in so I can't lose it, a big plus for me. The battery indicator and magnets on the base are nice features. The lamp can also recharge my phone. Happy with this purchase. ... show more

  • I love these lanterns. Great for off-grid. Update: No longer turns off.
We have a mini, two 400s, and a Core. We are on off-grid solar power so charge them during the day and use them at night. Essentially we have given up on plug-in lights. The mini is really too small for an area light, but does fine for getting around in the dark or lighting small work areas. The other two can be hung to almost replace a normal area light. While the stand on the 400 is nice and it has an old school look, the Core is more practical with the magnetic bottom. Also it is shaped so that it sends light below it without leaving a "blind spot", whereas when hung, the 400 does not shine directly below. Update: I am very disappointed that this light has become unusable. It now no longer turns off and does not dim. Many others seem to have this same problem. Goal Zero, please repair this switch issue before selling any more of these! ... show more

  • I love this light, but 2 out of 3 have failed the same way.
This is one of the best camping lights I have used, but of the two I bought, one failed. I sent it back and got a replacement that failed the same way. They never got wet, and they didn't get used much. Both failed within 30 days of receipt. The failure mode of both of mine is that after some period of time, one side of the lamp will not turn off. It may flicker and/or get dim, but it won't turn off. This is not awesome, everything else about the lamp is awesome. I haven't decided if I will send the replacement back yet or not. I love the lights, but there appears to be some issue with the lighting control circuitry. ... show more

  • POOR PRODUCT
I have the full size lantern from Goal Zero with the crank top and decided to buy this one to compliment it. It arrived with no issue, I charged it and put it in my hall closet until needed. WELL a hurricane came through and I pulled my lights to use and it took a charge but then wouldn't shutoff. One side would go from lite to bright but thats it. Couldnt shut off or turn on the other side. This seems to be a common theme with this product. GOAL ZERO SHAME ON YOU. I didn't even get to use this product once and it crapped out on me. GOAL ZERO is expensive brand to buy in because I assumed I was buying quality, but looking at these reviews and them not reacting is a real show of character of there business model. Unfortunately I can no longer support them if I can buy cheap knock offs that will last just as long. ... show more

  • Great Lantern, that did not last.
Why only one star, when I rated the features so well? Loved this lantern when I first bought it. Light was great! Adjustment of the light was very good. Lasted a long time. The problem came later when I found the light was on, even though it was switched off. I didn't use it much, ever abused it (it still looks new), and kept it charged. Had it a little under a year and a half. Checked the manufacturers website. Noticed lots of people having the same trouble. Also noticed a "Two Year Warranty" on their products. Great! Read the fine print, and they only honor the two year warranty when purchased directly through them. I submitted a warranty request anyway and have not heard back, not even an automated response. Guessing I won't hear at all. Do yourself a favor and don't buy any Goal Zero products. ... show more
