    • Easy to travel with and one of two dogs like it

Overall this is a good travel crate. If you can call it a crate. Really it’s a dog tent and one of my dogs barely left it in a recent trip to the beach. It is pretty sturdy, and easy to open and setup. My dog wouldn’t break through it if it were closed, but a more aggressive dog could. I should mention the way the front entrance is designed is a bit weird. My dog has to duck to get in. He a medium 48lb collie. Otherwise although it’s a bit smaller than his normal crate, he has plenty of room to maneuver inside. His twin brother who loves the crate at home, wouldn’t give it a second look. I think he might not have liked the idea of ducking to get in. If you look at the pictures you’ll see the entrance opening is about 3” down. Unlike his crate at home that has basically no lip on the top or bottom of the entrance. I might keep it cause I hate to have a crate for one and not the other. Must not give one child special treatment. I’d recommend this. But for what it is. It’s not a full on crate. It’s just a nice place to sleep and feel safe if that’s your thing. ... show more

The blue 24" rounded top is the perfect size for my Jack Russell terrier - 15 lbs. This is my second one, I had a larger one (for a smaller dog, duh), and gave it away after she passed away (double duh). Anyway, this is a terrific in-home dog house if your dog is a burrower, or just needs some private time. I love the roll up windows. I put a blanket inside and he lives it. I will never zip him inside. This is not a secure crate for a destructive dog. This is a mellow/tame dog hangout. Strong fabric, durable and good looking, VERY easy to assemble. ... show more

    • Not bad, if your pup don't chew!

We used to lug our yellow lab's 42" metal crate with us wherever we went. He's still a pup and hence a bit of a chewer. The metal crate was cumbersome to load into our SUV, rattled like crazy during the car ride and took up half the rear passenger space. We knew there had to be a better solution. A quick search for "travel crate" brought us here. We looked at several crates, the first one we bought (also a GoPetClub) was too tall to fit in our SUV so we returned it and got this one. The AC40 is a bit smaller than your average 42" crate but there's still plenty of space for our 72lbs lab to turn around and find a comfy spot. The frame itself is very easy to setup and once the bars are connected (one on each side) it is very sturdy but still light and easy to handle. The external accessory bag is a good size and can hold leashes, treats, and water bottle easily. There's a rollup mesh door and sunroof and what appears to be a short leash. The included crate pad has a soft faux-wool cover over a corrugated plastic board underneath, it isn't soft by any means but it sure beats sleeping on a cold, hard surface. It seems designed to be easy to clean in case of any accidents. The biggest drawback is that the interior of the crate has too many places where a bored puppy could get his/her chew on. The short leash hangs inside and there are a few too many exposed flaps and seams. We do pull the short leash out through the sunroof when he's crated and also treated the exposed flaps and seams with some bitter apple. So far nothing has been chewed off. Some other drawbacks - there isn't a solid outer panel you can zip over the mesh panels to give your doggie some privacy or shade. There aren't any tie down loops at the corners so I'm not sure why there's even a short leash. I doubt the material is water resistant. I wouldn't plan on using this for a camping trip unless the weather calls for completely clear skies or you can bring another tent/canopy just for the dog. Overall we are really happy with this crate and would recommend it if your pet isn't big on chewing, is crate trained and your use case doesn't involve outdoor adventures with the chance for inclement weather. ... show more
