  • 2x As Thick As Competitors - Truly Heavy Duty.
I never write reviews, but this actually made a significant difference for my install so I felt compelled. TL;DR: These GNOLAK heavy duty crossbar brackets are over twice as thick as other brackets I purchased at the store and other listings on Amazon, and are strong enough to hold up large barn lights without bending or stripping at all. I used them to fix several very large gooseneck exterior barn lights. These are quite heavy lights, and the electricians that installed them used the super thin brackets that came with the lights. Needless to say those other thin brackets bent from the weight and leverage of the light, leading them to sag and pull away from the wall, opening a gap at the base allowing water ingress. I tried another thin bracket from the store and the same thing happened. After buying other listings for similar crossbar brackets they all arrived super thin, so I was at my wits end trying to figure out how I was going to fix these lights. I've never heard anyone discuss there being an option for thicker mounting brackets. That's when I found this listing and saw the dimensions of it being 1/8 inch thick. When I got it, I found it actually lived up to that thickness. Using these, I was able to tighten the lights enough to pull them tight against the house with absolutely no sagging or bending, and the brackets didn't strip where the screws attach. Huge improvement. Even if you're not installing something as big and heavy as I was, I would still choose these as they are less likely to strip out if you over-tighten the screws. Or something like a fan, these would add more piece of mind than using the super thin brackets. The only improvement I can point out is that this only comes with 4 long screws used to install these crossbar brackets to the electrical box. Other listings include those, plus 4 shorter screws to attach the light itself to the crossbar bracket. If you're installing a new light it won't be a problem since it should come with those shorter screws. Unfortunately the electrician that installed my lights destroyed and stripped the old screw heads, so I had to make a trip to the store to buy shorter 1-inch #8-32 screws. Super solid, heavy duty, I'm satisfied. ... show more

  • Robust and Threaded Mounting Holes
In an older house, the previous light fixture was mounted with 2 screws on 2.75" separation. The new light fixture required 3.5" separation. The mounting fixture in the ceiling was of course narrower in diameter than 3.5", so standard 1" length screws could not be used. It was easy to mount the GNOLAK bracket. Using 0.375" screws for the 3.5" mounting holes in the fixture, they screwed right into the tapped 3.5" separate holes of the bracket, and because the bracket thickness is 0.125", the screws were securely seated. The top of the new light fixture has a depressed area of about 3/16" depth, so the whole assembly mounted flush to the ceiling. The slots in the bracket were important to be able to route the ground wire to the fixture frame. The only difficulty was balancing on a ladder and having only 2 hands to hold the fixture, position screws, and using a ratcheting screwdriver to seat the screws without dropping anything! ... show more

  • Great for mounting newer ceiling fan in old box.
We bought a new ceiling fans to replace older ones. The mounting box in the ceiling was too small to fit the new bracket. These worked perfectly to fit the new larger bracket onto the old box. Very strong and sturdy.

  • HOLY COW ARE THESE THICK.
I think the 50LB rating on these is an understatement. These are easily double the thickness of a normal mounting plate. Even the mounting plates I got from Lowe's that also claim a 50LB rating.

  • Thick and durable!!
This bracket set comes with everything as told in a 2 pack. We have been upgrading our home with new light fixtures and we needed a bracket kit for one of the electrical outlet, so we got this. The rings/brackets of this set are much thicker than the older rings we have and seem very durable. They come in handy as a replacement/ as extra brackets for various electrical projects at home. ... show more

  • Really needed this!
I had an older (but nice) light fixture that was missing the mounting bracket, so I was very happy to find this replacement bracket set. Exactly what I needed to mount that old fixture.
