I bought this mini PC because my Dell desktop died. I was thinking about buying a new PC or Laptop anyway and had been researching a new one for a couple weeks , I was leaning towards a Dell laptop because I already owned a Dell desktop and 2 dell laptops. My work laptop is also a Dell. I had never heard of these mini-computers and saw one when I was browsing on Amazon. Believe me I was very skeptical, I could not believe I had never seen these before, anyway after doing a bunch of research on line and word of mouth from friends and relatives, I decided to give ones of these mini-computers a try. I really liked the idea of the size.., no more big box under the desk, or on the desk. I also have a couple of giant monitors I wanted to hook up to it so I made sure I got one that would do dual monitors (1 monitor is actually a Amazon Fire TV). I also wanted a large hard drive and a decent amount of ram. I opted for the model with the Windows 11 Pro Intel Core i7-11390H (Turbo 5.0 GHz) 1TB SSD 16GB DDR4 and I can say this thing is lightening speed. At least I think it is. I am using it for just basic things like browsing, watching live sporting events like tennis, F1, etc, streaming movies, videos, doing home taxes, etc. I am not using it for any kind of gaming, so I cant tell you how it would be for that. But I would highly recommend this mini computer. It is fantastic in my opinion. It was very easy to setup. I have had it for about 2 months now and I am thinking of buying another one for my Mom who is always complaining that her pc is too slow. ... show more

    • Small powerhouse PC
Size: Intel Core i7-1185G7 16GB DDR4 + 1TB
I've purchased a few other mini PCs from this brand before and I genuinely like their products. This one in particular I got on sale and have been very pleased with it. For something so small, it's got a lot of power and speed. The 2.5gbps network port has been very nice and useful for my testing 2.5gbps networking at home (so no need for an adapter). DDR5 RAM, solid CPU (no overheating), and 1TB NVMe SSD provide plenty of speed for nearly everything I need. This does have Intel iGPU, so don't expect any high end gaming on it, but almost anything else works like a champ. It has plenty of USB connectivity, which is important for something so small so you don't need any USB hubs. Can drive 3 displays with no issue. I have mine mounted on the underside of a monitor stand so it's accessible yet out of the way. Unless you need a graphics intensive machine, or something high-end and specific, this will work for everything from small, niche use-cases to general everyday computing to homelabbing (I haven't tested other OSes, but VMs run fine in Hyper-V and VirtualBox) ... show more

    • Great Little Computer
Size: Intel Core i7-1185G7 16GB DDR4 + 1TB
I bought this as a computer for my garage. I have mounted on the wall, running two outputs for a 60-inch TV and a 4 K laser projector at the same time, with a wireless mouse and keyboard, and hooked into an audio mixer for speakers, and it runs amazingly. The computer turns on faster than the TV, it runs fast and smooth, handles multiple things running, even some light gaming for the price its great! My garage gets up to 90°, and I haven't had any issues overheating either. ... show more

    • Would not boot 95% of the time. Dissappointed
Size: Intel Core i7-1185G7 16GB DDR4 + 1TB
My wife and I have been Dell owners for nearly every computer we have owned, including those we're currently using. I needed to upgrade mine to be compatible with Windows 11, as I'm currently using an XPS 2710 I've been using daily since 2012 that still works fine, but only has a 3rd gen Intel i5 processor. I was a bit worried about buying one of these mini PCs since I've seen quite a few reviews where they were either DOA or failed within a short period of time. But I figured those must be rare, isolated instances so I gave this one a chance because I wanted something small that had solid specs. The computer arrived in perfect condition and well packaged. I spent a couple hours taking my old computer out and getting everything ready and connected to this new GMKtec computer. It fit so nicely on my desk and took up so little space, so I was initially happy and excited. With everything connected and ready to go, I pressed the power button. Everything powered up and my monitor briefly came out of power save, then displayed the 'No signal' message and... nothing. Pressing the power button on the computer immediately turned it back off. I tried starting it up again (and again, and again...) with the same result. Then I decided to try the other HDMI port - nothing. Then tried different HDMI cables - nothing. Then I tried a different monitor - nothing. I tried all kinds of combinations of disconnecting things from the computer, like network, USB devices, etc. - nothing. Then at some point it randomly decided to boot up and went into the Windows setup, but by then I was pretty worried that it has serious problems, as it shouldn't be that difficult to get a computer to boot. At that point, pressing the power button would not turn the computer off, but I think was just putting it into sleep mode. I tried unplugging it and starting over, just to see if it would boot successfully again, and it wouldn't and I was back to trying numerous times, then on occasion it would boot and started going into Windows again, then the blue screen errors started happening. The next time I actually got it to boot it went into Windows setup again, but this time it looked completely different from the previous setup screen, like the really old Windows setup, very plain-text looking. IDK. This thing was just a problem right out of the box. Other than this experience, the only other thing I can report on is that the fan is indeed loud, because would cycle on briefly each time I started the computer (at least that worked). It would likely have annoyed me if it ran like that often while in use. I ended up returning this and went back to Dell. I ordered an Optiplex 7020 micro form factor with a 14th gen Core i5, 16GB DDR5 RAM and M.2 2230 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD Class 35 hard drive. Based on years of experience with Dell, I feel confident that it will last a long time and be reliable, which for me is very important (I just want me computer to work when I need it). It's a bit larger than this one at around 7" x 7", but I ordered the under desk/wall mount for it, so I can mount it behind my desk and it will not even be visible or take up any space. The Dell did cost twice as much as this one, but this one did not work, so I guess maybe you do get what you pay for. In the end, I wouldn't recommend this computer, and actually not sure I'd recommend any of these tiny PCs. There are many companies making them and I see similar complaints with all of them, so I can't say this one is any worse or better than the others. Reliability is important to me, so I'm ok paying a little more for something that will work properly and last. ... show more

    • Good for the price!
Size: Intel Core i7-1185G7 16GB DDR4 + 1TB
I have bought several GMKtec models for a vary of usages. All seem good to do the jobs. CPUs in these units aren't meant for super heavy loads but they do run fast. Great for simple tasks like web browsing and email. Light office duty or media viewing is the best application. The lighter models have 4 USB ports and 1 USB C port. Under heavy loads you will hear the fan. Can get loud at times. ... show more

    • Best Little PC ever
Size: Intel Core i7-1185G7 16GB DDR4 + 1TB
I was pleasantly surprised how cool it stayed, how fast everything ran and how easy it was to set up. What I did not like that there is no media port and no card reader. No freaking big deal. I got a usb hub with a card reader and used the included HDMI port. Wow this is small and powerful computer!

I bought this PC for my wife....we don't game, but it sure could!!! This computer is compact and fast. The cooling fan is a little louder than I'd like, but hey.....for the money, you can't beat it.
