This is a neat little PC. I don't play many games on PC, I prefer console. However, I got this strictly for Sims and general use! It is cost effective and great quality. Especially if you're a person who only plays a few games. However, I believe if you truly wanted you could max this thing out with games. It's fast, effective and reliable. It hasn't let me down yet! I use a cooling fan when I game on it and I haven't had an issue with overheating. I'll update y'all if anything goes wrong cause you never know. But so far this is fabulous. This is my 3rd Mini PC from GMKTec, and I've been very impressed with all of them. This latest model has an AMD Ryzen 9 8945HS with integrated Radeon 780M graphics and is being marketed as a mini gaming PC, so I thought I'd put it to the test. I installed Fortnite through the Epic Games Launcher and asked my son to demo. I attached some pictures and a video, but he was surprised at how well it ran the game on high settings. My monitor tops out at 2K resolution (2560x1440 pixels / QHD 1440p), and while not 4K, he was still playing with good quality and frame rate without having to drop to 1080p (which is fine too). The fan does get a little noisy during heavy loading (i.e., gaming), but it isn't too bad. I recalled my first GMKTec mini PC has the ability to run in a lower power mode with slower fan speeds through BIOS adjustments, so I looked through the BIOS on this PC but didn't find what I was looking for. I'll need to dig a little deeper here. This PC has Windows 11 Pro 64-bit, so Pro is an unexpected upgrade, although with the networking capabilities this PC has, it probably is a necessity. It has 32.0GB RAM and a 2.0TB SSD. There are traditional USB A slots on the back for keyboard and mouse, but it also has numerous USB C 4.0 ports on the front and back, one of which is directly next to the power plug. I need to look into this because I may be able to use my 140W USB-C wall charger to power this PC through its USB-C 4.0 port instead of using the larger laptop-style charger brick and cable that it came with. I attached some benchmark results, including one from CPU-Z showing this PC's processor is slightly faster in single and multi-thread testing compared to an Intel Core i9-11900K. This PC is fast, and the little LED multi-colored fan is a nice touch. The top clear lid comes off easily if you turn it counter-clockwise about 45° - putting it back on is easy too by doing the inverse. Out of the 3 GMKtec PCs I've purchased, I had an issue requiring support only once with the first PC. Their support team responded within 12 hours and quickly resolved my issue. If you're looking for something small to free up desk space but powerful enough to do anything business-related while being able to game too, then this PC is a great choice for you. I purchased their next model down, the GMKTec NucBox K8 Plus, to run in our conference room at work, and it handles large assemblies in SolidWorks (3D CAD software) very smoothly. I know you'd be surprised at the performance at any size, but in something this small, it is remarkable. Laptop components in a mini PC form factor for the win!     • Surprisingly good for games!!!
When I saw GMK had a new design coming with better cooling and oculink i was looking forward to getting it. After getting it i wasnt disappointed. The 680m did quiet well in the games i play. Minecraft ATM10 i saw a constant 130fps. With shaders turned on it dropped to about 30 but it was still very playable. Horizon zero dawn the benchmark set to original quality it got 37 fps. Far cry 5 it got 41 FPS. So over all i am very happy with how this little guy is doing. Benchmark wise geekbench 4-single 6823, multi 37902, open cl 94624, gb5- single 1631, multi 9623, opencl 34079, GB6- single 2034, multi 10181. GB AI ONNX - Single percision 2860, Half 1413, quantized 3077. DirectML - Single 6079, Half 8527, quantized 4240 I bought a cheap oculink dock now i wish i bought a better one just to have a cleaner setup. I put in a rx580 to do some testing and it worked like a charm. I didnt have to do anything just turn on the computer with everything plugged in and powered. I also tested an ssd and 10gb networking and works like a charm. With the 10gb network i was seeing about 7ish Gigabits per second in transfers. Yea its not full speed for the card but that is pretty much full speed for a 4x4 pcie. so cant fault the computer for that. I do like the design of the computer i wish the top fan had a filter of some kind but it is easy to open and clean if needed. Overall the fans are very quiet and the the system runs nicely. This computer is pretty good all around little computer for someone wanting small, quiet and capable with the ability to expand it over oculink. also if you have a powerful enough usb c dock you can do one cable operation with this. sadly my dock doesnt put out enough power for one cable operation so i run 2 cables. TL;DR - Good performance, quiet fans, can play some games. usb 4 with power in support. Video shows the computer under full load and how quiet the fans are. I would recommend this computer to friends needing something for video editing and light gaming. ... show more

Haven't seen boot times this slow since the days of 2ghz chips and mechanical drives and I'm being generous. Ask it to do multiple things and it lags. Can't even keep up with my typing. Played an old dx9 game on it and it managed to play smoothly. Going to install my nvme game drive and see how it handles my games. My old AMD ryzen 7 2700x booted faster. Browsing Facebook, using messenger and checking your email should be fine. After further use i haven't seen the "working" icon so much since the glory days of the AMD Duron 600Mhz on mechanical drives. Infact i might give the edge to the Duron. The BIOS does not support a mouse within it. Fortunately I'm an old school nerd and know how to get around a bios using the keys. I don't know if it's because of the external drives or not but Windows Explorer crashes. I don't think they pay much attention to the reviews or they would have reached out to me. ... show more

Works well with Ubuntu 25.10. Able to drive two 4k monitors via USB-C at 60Hz. Fan noise is audible when it's working hard, but not loud enough to be distracting. Just one issue I've noticed that'll cost it a star: one of the two Ethernet ports disappears after resuming from suspend. I didn't leave Windows on the PC long enough to see whether it happens there, too, and it hasn't interfered with my workflow enough for me to look for a fix. (Also, I would've preferred not to have to indirectly pay for a Windows OS that I immediately purged from the PC, but that's hard to avoid in the prebuilt PC market). ... show more

Excellent tiny little computer! I was stunned when I realized just how small it is - but I love it. I've had it for a few months now and it's been flawless - it runs everything I've thrown at it. Doesn't run hot (though I must admit it sits on a perforated metal shelf so there's PLENTY of airflow). Keep in mind that I am not a gamer, so I can't speak to its strengths there. It runs Corel Graphics Suite and several other graphics programs easily, with no effort, and the usual roster of email, web browsers and Microsoft Office without a hiccup.
