This is my second pistol safe - the previous one had issues with hydraulic hinges and hardly opens after 4 years. This is sturdy, well-built, great function. I really like how it opens and provides ready-immediate access to the weapon. In internal light is fantastic. I wish it were a little quieter - the button beeps and safe opening are loud - not something that can be done surreptitiously. It's the perfect fit for my Beretta 92 with a extra magazine. The fingerprint reader is a bit finicky and doesn't always read - but the code is infallible. Haven't had any issues with that at all. I really like that this fits quite beautifully between my night table and my bed for immediate access. No fumbling around - the drawer opens clear to provide complete access to the weapon, no having to fumble with the drawer. It's a smart design and a great function. ... show more

I looked for a while before deciding on this gloryfire box. Everything works as described. The finger print reader is finicky like others have said. I’ve added my fingerprint a few times. It is a slow learning curve but gets better as you become more knowledgeable of it. Remember, it will hold 20 prints. The foam inside is not great, it kept pulling out with my gun so I modified it. Double sided carpet tape will work but only once your sure of final adjustments. It is quite easy to mount just follow instructions and use better hardware. I’m still not sure but I think the battery compartment is for use as battery’s only or as a battery backup in a power loss when the usb power isn’t available. It will not charge or keep rechargeables up or my installed alkalines would’ve exploded by now😳 All in all I think this is the best of all that I researched. I have not tried but their customer service gets good reviews. ... show more

After wanting to keep one of my handguns next to my bed for personal protection, and with kids and visitors in our home, I opted to buy a safe to ensure some security. Shopping for name brand safes quickly turned me off to the idea, until I saw this offering as a Prime Day deal. The safe easily registered fingerprints as well as accurately registers and unlocks with them (no false readings, and I generally have clean hands so I haven’t had issue with it registering a print yet). The keypad and keys are also a nice feature as is being able to provide USB power for this in addition to batteries. The safe isn’t silent but it is not loud, it closes with a definitive click and the LED inside is also handy when accessing what’s inside. Plenty of room for my single stack, and I don’t see any issues holding a larger, more traditional handgun either (eg: 1911) so long as it doesn’t have a long barrel. Very happy with this purchase; much more affordable than the big names, all while still being reliable, sturdy, and most of all secure. I’ll update this review if anything comes up over time, as of now it has been in routine use for about 6 months with no problems. ... show more

Mounting plate much larger than competitive models. Very tight on the wall of my dresser. Video of competitive model seemed pretty flimsy and shaky. I love how it springs open straight out instead of dropping down. Fits my Glock and spare mag perfectly. Also tried a 7 shot Taurus 357 which fit just fine as well. biometric fingerprint worked fine as well as user programable combo. I like that there is a hard to pick manual key unlock feature. My previous bedside safe didn't have this and when the mechanical pushbutton lock failed I had to saw the box apart to get our gun. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I find this gun safe quite intriguing. The construction and finish are impressive, and it appears and feels sturdy. I appreciate the three-lock feature, including fingerprint, key, and code options. Its compact design makes installation easy. However, I encountered some trouble setting up the code and fingerprint setup until I realized it requires the power cable to function properly; the four Triple A batteries (not included) just aren't sufficient to support proper function of the number code and finger print open/close function. I'm not even sure why it comes with batteries, as I wouldn't trust them as a backup. That's why the key feature seems essential. It's important to note that before setting the codes and biometric fingerprint, you must connect it to power (cable included) since the batteries aren't reliable and won’t let it function properly Hopefully, there won't be a power outage during a home invasion. ... show more
