I love camping and it's become second nature to be prepared for the "just in case" moments of daily life. Good lighting that's durable and long lasting is definitely at the forefront, which this lantern is hands down. It's light-weight, and small but has a powerful brightness. You can adjust the level for your needs. The lighting has a warm tone in it vs. the common cool lighting with most LED lanterns. I prefer warmer lighting so that's another bonus for me personally. It's rechargeable and long lasting on a single charge. There are little charge level indicators at the top of the lantern next to the charging port that lets you know how much you have left, instead of the common guessing game some of the chargeable products leave you with. It seems to be pretty tough during my camping days, not that I'm throwing it around, but just regular use and minor bumps here and there. No issues. I loved this little lantern so much, I bought 2 more, and we have one in each bedroom for emergencies (we have frequent blackouts, yay lol) and one in the kitchen. I honestly can't think of any cons with this one. It's great quality guys.

I bought this as a house warming gift for my friends who just bought a house in Florida. I didn't want to buy anything too personalized for their house as most people are very particular what they want displayed in their home. But EVERYONE needs lanterns. This lightweight lantern is small but has a lot of power! And it's RECHARGEABLE so no batteries needed! And it has different light settings so they can have the light set on dim or bright - whichever works for them at the moment. I'm SUPER happy with the quality and functionality of this item and they seemed very pleased when they received it. I'm actually going to get one for myself. At the time I purchased this it was only $20 which I think is a reasonable and competitive price for this lantern. Don't hesitate to buy!

When charged, this is a great product. The battery lasts a long time when in use, it's easy to use, it's bright, and it's compact. [Update After Replacement] After reading about my experience with the battery draining (below), the company reached out, noted the battery should last months while not in use (not just weeks), and sent me a replacement. The replacement has held a full charge for over 4 weeks now, looks like it was just an issue with my original, very happy with the replacement and customer support. I'd just check the charge a month or so after you initially charge it to catch any issues early. [Issue With Original] The main issue is that the battery drains in about 3 weeks whether or not you use it. That is a significant problem if you plan on using it for emergencies unless you always leave it plugged in. Nothing like urgently needing some light during a power outage and your emergency light being dead.

I'm very pleasantly surprised with this lantern. I ordered a couple in the wake of our most recent storm-related power outage because I wasn't really interested in continuing to try to poop by candlelight, but I was a little dubious when I placed the order. Boy, was I wrong. These things look cheap and plastic-y, but they're not. I'm super clumsy and dropped one of them on the sidewalk on the way in, and then knocked it off the kitchen counter accidentally. Didn't even scuff it. They're also holy-crap bright. They have a function that only lasts for 3 minutes before it automatically turns off, but the lamp gets so bright that you can't even look at it. I guess that might go in my "cons" section: it's super hard to turn off in that mode (the 1200LM one). You can close your eyes and see the inside of your eyelids with that. it also has an SOS mode that flashes red lights twice a second, which I can only imagine would be really useful in an emergency. So, here's pros and cons: Pros: super ultra bright. Holy crap bright. "Let there be light and there was light" bright. I read that you can see 1200LM from a search and rescue helicopter (but I also read that on the Internet, so.....). It's sturdy and waterproof, charges relatively quickly, and has a loooooooong life (the claim is 80 hours on one charge, although I haven't gotten to test that yet). The SOS mode (flashing red strobe) is also a nice feature. Cons: There's a fairly cheap silicone band for hanging on hooks/tents/tree limbs and I'm not sure how that'll actually hold up. The only real criticism I have (and this one is actually pretty serious) is that on both units I purchased, the charging port is located on the bottom of the unit and it's extremely loose - you have to lay the lantern on its side and carefully position the cord. The slightest movement (your cat hitting the charging cable ten feet away, for example) will jar it loose and it won't charge. I tried this with the cables included in the package, as well as with a couple of my own, and the ports are just a wee bit bigger than most USB-C ports. That's not worth dinging it a star in the rating, but it's still worth noting just in case.

I used the previous version for several years as a bedside/reading lamp because the light level adjustability was great for my eye issues. But it was starting to dim a bit (it had a LOT of use) so it was time for a replacement. I'll keep the old one charged for emergencies though. This new version is phenomenal! Lots more/smaller LED lights so it's much brighter but more diffused. There's a combo of white and yellow lights which comes across as more of a soft white at lower settings but will very efficiently light up a room at higher settings. It'll probably never go camping, but that's okay because it will be well used at home and the battery life means it's also great if you lose power as well. Great option for a small lamp. Update: Thanks to an intermittent wiring issue (and lack of a small fortune to give to an electrician) these have been life savers. I still use the lowest setting as a reading lamp because most plug in lamps cannot replicate this soft, low light. But my bathroom which has no window and is very dark and is also on the same wiring circuit. But that's okay because I bought a second lamp and it's working like a treat. It can light up the whole bathroom, even with the shower curtain closed and showering is still easy. And the way it holds a charge is phenomenal. I'm thinking of giving these as Christmas gifts this year, because they're so practical and functional.
