Very impressed with how easy this bulb was to set up. You just use Alexa right from the start and then scan a barcode on the instruction manual for Alexa to find your bulb. Enter your wifi name and password, then tell it what room to put the bulb in and you're done. This may be the easiest smart device set up I've ever experienced! Once you complete the set up process, the Alexa app and voice commands allow you to select a wide variety of colors and 5 shades of white. You can also select various "moods" which either set a fixed color and brightness (i.e. "Relax," "Focus," or "Comfort") or a color- and brightness-changing pattern reminiscent of the ocean, a volcano, the jungle, or a party. The bulb is listed to have a brightness of up to 800 lumens, which won't light up an entire room, but is good for a table or reading lamp. If I were to change anything about this bulb, it's the lack of Google Home functionality. It's very clearly stated in the product description that it only works with Alexa, so I'm not going to take any stars off for that, but for $12 (current price at this time), I believe you can find other color-changing bulbs that work with both Google and Alexa. When I bought it, the price was only $6.83 and for that price, this bulb is a great deal - even if it only works with Alexa. ... show more

Paired quickly with Alexa and is easy to control via the app or voice. My wife and daughter have enjoyed playing with the color changing feature, trying to pick the best scene for the living room. The colors are vivid! Scheduling on/off has been a great feature to have the light already on when we get home at night. Will definitely be buying another one. ... show more

This was so easy to set up. I literally put it in my lamp, turned it on, then logged into my alexa app and it showed a light was available for set up. It was that easy!
