Great quality camera, easy to install. Although the supplied video cable is VERY lengthy so if you don't need all the length I would recommend getting a shorter cable as well. I didn't have a short one so I just bundled it together and tied it up. Odd that the power wires are so much shorter than the video cable though, but luckily not an issue on my replacement since the wires had already been run.

This camera has good picture quality! I was having fun with it hooked up to our 65" TV and even blown up that large it looked decent. Refresh rate leaves something to be desired for other uses, but as a backup camera, it's just fine. I like how easy it will be to mount to a license plate. The cost isn't bad, considering it has the wiring to get the camera hooked up all the way from the rear of the vehicle to the dash. I was surprised the LEDs are not IR LED, they're visible light. Cars have reverse lights, so I'm unsure why this has super-bright lights right next to the lens. Personally, I'd deactivate these if they didn't prove necessary, as a hazy night may reduce contrast to the image when the lights are that close to the lens. Also...cars have reverse lights. I can see this being useful on a vehicle with bad reverse lights, but unnecessary otherwise, and particular to vehicles that rely on reverse lighting power to switch on the camera (or it will illuminate all the time). Fitment will be easy, it just bolts to the license plate holes, which are standardized in the U.S.

I bought this for my daughter's VW Beetle to replace a camera that I had installed with an aftermarket Carplay head unit. That camera had guide lines on it that were annoying and pointed into the sky with no way to turn them off. I simply cut the green wire on this GLK backup camera and plugged the camera into the already existing power and RCA video cable and it worked! Best of all, no more guide lines! Oddly enough, the head unit said the old camera was AHD, but I tried the GLK camera first in the default CVBS HD setting and it worked perfectly so I left it as is. Nice picture too. Very sturdy and nice quality bracket and camera. I'm very pleased with the camera and the great price I got it at.

GLK Backup Camera Rear View Camera AHD 1080P Night Vision Reverse Camera, License Plate Backup Camera with 6 LED Lights,170 Degree Wide View Angle, IP69K Waterproof, for 12-24V Pickup Car Truck RV SUV I’m trying to install this on a 1988 GMC S15 Jimmy SUV with an updated radio that supports a reverse camera. I’ve got to say, that this is not easy. The first challenge is the license plate on the truck is recessed about 3 inches and the top mounting screws that the camera mount attaches with are at the very top. It was easy to install to the license plate, but I’m concerned that the recessed and high mounting position will likely block the camera’s upper field-of-view. You need to consider this prior to purchasing this or any camera. Next, routing the power wire to a back-up lamp wire and the video cable to the radio in the dash is not going to be easy. I found an opening at the license plate to feed the wires, although they’ll be visible. I’ve decided to run the cable underneath the truck to the firewall and hopefully find an existing penetration to push the cable through to the dash. Then I need to remove the radio and feed the video cable to the radio. Because of the effort it will require to properly install this, I’m going to pull the radio first to see if I can get the camera to work with my radio. If it does, I’m not sure it is worth the effort to install the wiring. I wanted to post a review to let potential buyers know that depending on your DIY skills and vehicle, the addition of this or any other wired reverse camera is not a quick, simple task. The quality of this camera and mount is good, but the connectors are not waterproof and could corrode over time. Four stars for product quality but I can only give it an overall rating of three stars because of the difficulty of installation.
