  • Really awesome
Really cool kit pretty awesome to make your own. My son wanted this and he put it together himself and Wood burned his designs and stained the wood. He really loves it and it sounds great.

  • Cool looking guitar. Loved assembling it.
Had to sand the body and neck with a fine sandpaper to get the wood smooth enough for painting. Definitely watch the assembly video carefully to know which screws to use on each set of parts. Everything went together well for assembly. Looks awesome and feels good when playing. Had to sand down the 23rd fret because of fret buzz. The sound is ok when plugged into an amp. Not the best sounding compared to any professional guitars. I put it up against my Ibanez and Jackson guitars and the Glarry has a very high treble tone. Hardly any low end output. This guitar was very fun to build, customize and condition for my use. That is the main reason why I give it a 5 star review. ... show more

  • Okay Kit With Some Problems
This kit arrived well packaged. The DIY kit was uneven to say the least. The body were very rough. I had to do a lot of sanding to get it ready for staining. That isn't a major problem, but I did get a spinter while moisturizing the fretboard. Oh, the fretboard was amazingly dry. There was a bit of fret sprout, which was fixed with a sanding sponge. The nut is plastic, which is expected on a kit like this one, but it was cut surprisingly well. There were also no high frets, which I took the back bow out of the neck with the truss rod. The screw holes for the tuners seemed to have been drilled almost randomly. The tuners were quite crooked because of this, but it's more of an appearance problem than a functional one. The pre-soldered electronics were a bit disappointing because the middle pickup ground was not soldered, of at least it came loose in transport. I really wasn't interested in hearing the single coil middle pickup, but disappointing nonetheless. Finally, this is not a problem limitred to this diy kit, but the metal of the screws is so soft that it's very difficult to use them without stripping them. You need to be insanely careful to avoid putting them in never to be removed. If you're doing this along with your child, or grandchild in my case, you really can't let them turn the screws. So, all that being said, the guitar came together, and although I'll be replacing the pickups and electronics, and likely the tremolo bridge, it works pretty well. I especially like the body cutout that allows you to play in the classical guitar position. So, overall for 67 dollars, this is an okay diy kit. ... show more
