After extensive research, I bought this fireplace insert from Amazon. Amazon has the best return policy, as I didn’t like or trust the third-party sellers. As for the fireplace, it’s very attractive and heats quite well. The reason for buying the insert was not being able to find a mantle or cabinet as such that matched the oak in our home. For a cheap solution, this has been great. Our chimney is blocked off, so we just had a hole. It sits in there just fine. It's not as tall as needed, but i didn't actually see a more expensive one that fit the space either. The flame isn't too unrealistic and it does blow out a nice heat. I do wish the remote was a little easier and would work with the front panel shut. However, all in all totally worth it. ... show more

What a pain in the rear piece of garbage. Checked everything before I began installing in our camper and all functions worked. Cut into cabinets under TV to build custom frame. Installed unit and now it’s a cheesy ornamental fireplace with zero heat output. Unfortunately I’ve already disposed of packing materials and box or would return. Heat portion doesn’t work on any setting either with buttons or remote. Fireplace frame does not fit around the fireplace properly. Fireplace is flush mount but frame is angled? I didn’t expect much at this price but I thought I’d get a couple of years at least. Update! Received a replacement. Same as the first. What useless garbage and waste of time. ... show more
