The Syntax MIPS combines a touch of European flair with slightly deeper coverage and high-performance features - all tucked into a very slim design. The outer shell is molded from a tough polycarbonate that's fused permanently to the EPS foam liner using our In-Mold construction process to enhance durability and ventilation without excess bulk. The fit is luxurious and secure, thanks to our highly-adjustable Roc Loc 5 Air MIPS system that allows you to customize fit/feel for great stability and long-range comfort. Another benefit is integrated MIPS which can provide an added measure of protection from rotational forces in the event of an angled impact

I’ve been using Giro Helmets for the last 20 years. Probably going through about 6-7. So I can’t compare this helmet to any other brand. It’s by far the best Giro so far. I rode 4 times the past week (35 miles average distance on each) in particularly hot NY weather and my head never felt hot. The vents seem well placed. It also feels very light. It seems most mid range Giro helmets have the feature (maybe expensive ones also) in the back where the angle or tilt of the helmet can be adjusted. See the photo. There appear to be 3 positions. My current is in the middle. There are no instructions for this and a Google search was mildly helpful at best. I only discovered the feature as the helmet from the factory seemed to be too low on my far head. Almost covering my eyes. So I clicked it one position and fits perfectly. In summary up until about 3-4 years ago the difference in features, weight, airflow comfort ability was a major difference between the more expensive helmets and even mid priced ones. Well not anymore as. Are the more expensive ones lighter? Probably so but for a few grams and an additional hundred or so not worth the price. Are the more expensive ones cooler. Took me awhile to get on board with wearing a helmet. I started off with something cute that was heavy and made my head sweat. I decided to try this one and it is far more comfortable. I gotta tell you. I am a big guy (6'4", 260 lbs) with a big head and this helmet fits me. It is comfortable and there is still room in case my head grows (ha ha). Would highly recommend. Beautiful matte black.

This is a fantastic helmet. This is the second Giro I have had. My first was a Giro Atmos helmet. The Syntax is very comfortable and easy to adjust with the spin dial at the back of the helmet. I do like that the colored portion is reflective, although I would have prefered the blue rather than yellow, but I could not pass on the price since it is a discontinued color and was 38% off original price of $130.
