  • Great fit for large heads
Color: Matte Grey Size: X-Large
I have a legit hat size of 7 3/4 to 8, which makes it hard for me to find helmets that are big enough. I had bought other helmets advertised as XXL, but were far too small for me to even fit on my head. When I saw that this helmet claims to fit up to 65 cm (8 1/8 hat size) I gave it a try. I am very pleased with how large and well made this helmet is. I can actually use the sizing ring to make it "too large" which has never happened for me before. So ... I can adjust the size to make it perfect. My only complaint is that the straps could have been an inch or two longer. I like to put two ankle socks in my helmet for forehead sweat and sun protection up top, which makes it sit a little higher. In this configuration, I have to use every millimeter of strap and it's still a bit tight. But overall I am very happy with it. ... show more

  • Life saver Tested ***
Color: Matte Portaro Grey (Limited) Size: Universal Adult (54-61 cm)
Been riding pretty aggressive mtb trails here in Southern California. Slipped a pedal high speed dropping down a section I’ve done dozens times. Def would have been bad news if this helmet hadn’t worked exactly as supposed to. Took all the impacts, no damage to my head. Before that loved the perfect fit, adjustability, and light weight. Buying another now. ... show more

  • This helmet saved my life
Color: Matte Trim Blue (Limited) Size: Universal Adult (54-61 cm)
I bought this helmet for a biking trip to Italy. I'm so glad I did. I took a hard fall from my bike on a slope in the rain. I had to be air lifted by helicopter to hospital. The helmet cracked in two places, but protected my head from the impact of the fall. I got a concussion, but without the helmet I'm not sure I would have survived. ... show more

  • Easy to Adjust size
Color: Matte Grey (Limited) Size: Universal Adult (54-61 cm)
When I bought this helmet I wondered (because it's an adult one-size-fits all) whether it would be too big for me.I'm female and 5 feet 3 inches. it's easily adjusted by turning the knob at the rear of the helmet. To my surprise once adjusted to a small size it fit snugly and perfectly. I always buy Giro as it's a good quality and dependable product line. ... show more

  • Lightweight and does the job!
Color: Matte Ano Blue Size: Universal Youth (50 - 57cm)
I just used an Amazon gift card to go towards this purchase and am so glad I did. It is very comfortable, love the color (Blue Matte) and now I feel my noggin will be nicely protected! I have only been on one bike ride since receiving this but feel like it will last me a good while. Hey, at 68 years young it wasn't too hard to get back on the bike (after getting my balance again) and ride a little to start out especially with having this extra protection that when we were kids felt we didn't need!! The size I ordered for a woman was the teen size and it works just right. ... show more

  • Feels Good
Color: Matte Trail Green (Limited) Size: Universal Adult (54-61 cm)
The instant I put on my Giro helmet and adjusted it, I knew I'd like it. The fit feels good. The helmet is higher quality and better fit than a no-name helmet that had worn out. The visor is an effective sunshade. The adjustment knob is smooth. The only improvement I'd make is to lengthen the chip straps by about one-inch to give me a bet more space between my chin the the strap. I am pleased with the fit, quality, weight, and price of my Giro helmet. ... show more

  • I thought no way
Color: Matte Grey Size: X-Large
The review title was my first impression on putting it on my head. I have a larger than usual head so helmets have been a challenge. My skull is oblong at about 65 cm so normal sized helmets feel like putting a tea cup on a bowling ball. That may be an exaggeration in reality however that is what it feels like. The Giro Fixture MIPS XL is a perfect fit to the toric shape of my skull. Very nicely made with good adjustments. Excellent rear head protection... great for those goons who like to throw things at bikers from moving cars. I really like the visor. Even on my racing bike I like visors to keep the sun from creeping over your sun glasses and for night rides being able to tip your head forward slightly for cars that drive at you with only high beams. My only unfulfilled helmet wish was to have screen over the vent holes to keep gnats and wasps out of your helmet. It would seem that a stainless steel screen mesh molded into the foam would greatly increase impact structural integrity without affecting compressive impact energy absorption. Well at least I have a new nice fitting helmet again. Now I can retire my old Giro helmet I had for twenty years. I know that is too long for established longevity guidelines, however a new helmet that didn't fit correctly was far more dangerous. One last thought.. Helmet manufacturers state to keep your helmet out of high temperatures. Like if you stored it in a car on a hot summer day, They don't however state any cold temperature limitation. My first bike helmet in the 1980's developed spider web cracks in the outer shell after just one really cold over winter storage in the garage. I will be bringing this helmet inside come November. ... show more
