This hose reel exceeds my expectations due to the quality of parts and construction! It’s made of thick gage stainless steel, is attractive, comes fully assembled, and is easy to install. It comes with heavy duty stainless mounting hardware that’s only useful for masonry, so you’ll have to supply your own for other types of mounting substrates. I used the lag bolts from my previous hose reel mount, and they worked perfectly. I’m using it for a 5/8”x75’ hose, and it fit well on the reel with plenty of room to spare, so the item description appears to be accurate on hose capacity. Keep in mind that they strongly warn against using 3/4” hose due to size limitations on the hose threading device. The pros are extensive, with very limited cons. As I read in an earlier review, there is one issue with the hose clamp position being too parallel with the reel axis, leading to a possible hose kink inside the reel. However, after playing around with the hose slack inside the reel, I was able to prevent a kink. The Manufacturer should consider opening up the angle of the clamp a little to relieve stress on the hose. Also, in the future there may be an issue with the exposed grease on the hose threading system catching grit, which could result in wear of the “follower” that drives the side-to-side motion. Although, that follower appears to be made of PTFE, which should extend its life even with some grit. In summary, the pros far outweigh any potential concerns, and while I’ve just started using the hose reel, I wouldn’t hesitate to order another of these. The cost seemed high before purchase, but the overall great quality of this reel definitely makes it well worth the price! If you’re looking for one that looks great and will last, this is the best I’ve ever seen. I’m a lifelong perfectionist and retired industrial Chemist, so I’m very hard to please, and this reel is the best I’ve ever owned!

Overall this is a great hose reel. It's rather an industrial look, but it works fantastic, especially with a metal shielded hose like the Bionic Steel 75 FT Garden Hose with Nozzle, 304 Stainless Steel Metal Water Hose 75Ft, Flexible Hose, Kink Free, Lightweight and Durable, Crush Resistant Fitting, Easy to Coil, 500 PSI - 2024 Model You could easily go to 150 feet with this hose and reel combo. What I like is the ease of reeling it in and out. It has a guide that moves the coil left and right so you don't have the bunching up from other reels with no guide. We're very pleased with it and recommend it, if you don't mind the look. It's also quite heavy, so be sure to secure it well.

There's a lot to like about this hose reel. The stainless steel construction with brass fittings is very sturdy yet it works smoothly with no leaks and I think it will last a long time. I'm a bit concerned like other reviewers about the plastic hose guide but time will tell. The listing claims this will hold 150 feet of 5/8 inch hose however it just barely holds my 100 foot heavy duty 3/4 inch hose which isn't a surprise. My only concern is the hose guide doesn't move far enough for my wider 3/4 inch hose meaning it sometimes overlaps the hose instead of laying it down next to the previous turn. When this occurs with a full reel it jams the hose against the guide and I have to manually move the guide over to make room for the hose. This isn't difficult to do but you should note that this reel is not designed with to work well with heavy 3/4 inch hoses.

So my husband mounted it to the side of our house. And it's sturdy like no other water hose reel I have ever had. It is so smooth when you are reeling it In and pulling the hose out. The performance is amazing on this! It does not get tangled when reeling it. It's smooth like butter. It is a little pricey but you do get what you pay for with this product. It's worth the extra than buying one at your local stores

I've purchased at least three different hose rollers, and not one met my needs until the Giraffe Tools Stainless Steel Hose Reel, which exceeded my expectations! It was easy to install, rolls up the hose effortlessly every time, and the entire unit just feels sturdy and of quality. I love the stainless steel. Mounting was easy. I did use some treated 2" x 4" material to mount to the wall first and then attached the reel mount to that. This spaces the reel away from the wall, which makes it easier to use.
