Generally very positive comments about this large hose reel. Description says it holds 250 feet of hose. I cannot verify that as we only have 200 feet on it but there is additional room on the reel. There is a step during assembly that I did struggle with some. There is a belt from the main reel pulley to a pulley on the device that moves back and forth to position the hose when it is being reeled in. I think the instructions could have been a bit clearer in that part of the assembly. I had to loosen parts that the factory had put together to get the belt in place and continue with the assembly. Further on in the instructions they do comment that you can do that to correctly tighten the belt. On the positive side it rolls well on the heavy plastic wheels. I wouldn't consider this reel if you only have 75 feet of hose or so. In our case we need much more hose and this reel is working well for us.

YOU NEED A HOSE REEL, REALLY My other hose reels - my other two favorites are also Giraffe Hose Reels, but more "domestic" in nature - have made me feel like I finally made it to adulthood just past the mid-century mark. Something about tidily reeling in your garden hoses feels "adult-like" to me. Not sure why. Yes, I still leave other tools in the yard, but usually because I'm rushing to ameliorate some other domestic catastrophe. Before I obtained my Adulthood Hose Reels (heh-heh), I acquired a few miles of quality hoses, which I still need for big projects, like the winter overseed that is now three weeks overdue. And I needed an "industrial sized" solution for storing those. MONSTER TRUCK FOR MAMA, KIND OF... This Giraffe Tools hose reel cart fit the bill for storing all my miles of hoses, all while somewhat fulfilling my mid-life crisis dreams of owning a monster truck. FUNCTION This cart looks like you're SERRIOUS about your hose reel situation, and that alone would probably sell me on it, but the fact it can also haul a metric ton of hose where I need it with minimal effort. Has a leader hose, so zero issues with hook-up (make sure you have your washer seals in for zero leaks!). An actual footage of hoses would probably be helpful to you in this situation, but since I gathered the other hoses in a pre-home repair frenzy, I didn't do any foot-accounting, but can estimate I have somewhere between 125 and 175 feet of metal sheath hose on mine, daisy-chained, and with lovely order to the wind-up. ASSEMBLY Takes but a few minutes. I did have to grab a screwdriver and wrench from a nearby project, but that was fine, no biggie. If you need a hose reel this big, you, too, have those tools employed nearby. Wheels attach with a spring bit and pins, which I had concerns about, but noted that my BBQ also has this type of wheel to axle attachment and it's rolled around without issue for 15 years now, so you'll probably be fine. Wheels/tires are big enough to roll over uneven landscapes/curbs/bumps, all without issues. They also give it that bad-assed appearance that makes you feel less ridiculed by television commercials for smelling your topsoil to determine what additives you need (what do those TV commercials know, anyway? My parents never made topsoil of this quality and we lived where the main crop was rocks...). Little bit of orchestration required to get the reel assembly set just so to bolt down, but as someone who read the instructions AFTER assembly, you should know you can actually loosen the frame to make that go a little smoother. Also having an interested second set of hands involved would be helpful. I did not. MAKE SURE YOU GET THE RIBBED BELT PLACED CORRECTLY That's what makes it all work. OVERALL Man, adulthood comes with some challenges, but also, cool moments, like having the neatest hose reel on the block. If you get this Giraffe Tools hose reel, you can enjoy the joy of adulthood with the giddiness of youth. Truly. Now they'll make a commercial about adults who are far too happy about their hose reels, and that's fine. Bet they don't have the monster truck of hose reels. GIRAFFE BRAND I have several components I've auditioned from Giraffe, and all have been winners thus far. They have a lot of options, so just be sure you order the size appropriate to your needs. Some of the hose reels with hoses come with smaller volume hoses, which might not meet your needs as well as a larger hose. But I've had great luck with their reels, their power washers and power washer accessories. Am absolutely coveting that shop vac with the retractable hose, so that may have to be a holiday gift from adult me to adult me. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!

I’ve been using this hose reel cart for a little while now, and I’m genuinely pleased with it. The first thing I noticed was how sturdy and well-built it feels—nothing flimsy, and the metal frame gives me confidence it’ll hold up outside. Moving it around my yard has been surprisingly easy. The large wheels roll smoothly, even over bumps and uneven spots, so I’m not fighting with it every time I water different areas. Winding and unwinding the hose is straightforward, and it keeps everything neatly in place instead of tangled around my feet. As far as the actually cart itself, it seems to be quality and good manufacturing. The design is smooth and nice for the crank and install as super easy! The wheels roll super smooth and don’t bind up! Now for the reason of a three star and not five. The packaging as utterly horrible! There were multiple parts that were bent and warped and would not fit together without bending and reshaping! The handle bar pole was warped so bad that I had to take a vise grip to it and reshape it and still needed a second person’s help to get them to slide into each other! They need to MAJORLY beef up their packaging protection, because if this was handled by a less careful shipper, it would have been unusable!!
