  • If you want straight cuts...
Make your cuts before you put it on the window. I cut mine a 1/2" short and got a 1/4" border around the window on all sides. The first couple I tried to cut after it was on the window like the directions stated, but it's hard to get a clean cut that way. Secondly if you have window locks and they will remove with a screw driver, it's easier to remove those then trying to trim around them. Of course put the locks back in place when you are done. ... show more

  • Works great!
I live in Florida and my bedroom faces the west. So all afternoon i get the direct hot sunlight. I bought one roll, which wasn’t enough to cover all the windows, but it still works miraculously. As you can see in the photo, the bottom half is tinted and significantly darker. I can FEEL the difference between the tinted and untinted windows. My room cooled down just from tinting half the windows, i can’t imagine what it’ll do when i get around to buying another roll. It looks great from the inside and out. I was worried the HOA would say something, but you can’t tell from the outside that the windows are tinted. I’ve told many my Floridian friends about this, and many have bought and felt the same. I highly recommend if you want to cool down your room! ... show more

  • Difficult to cut
This serves it's purpose since I am only using it on a sliding window at work that the sun beats through. I can still see out of it but it sufficiently blocks the enough light that I can still see my computer screen without the sun reflecting on it. I'm not sure I would use this on a window at home or anything. It was difficult to cut, even with a straight edge and exacto knife. Also tried other tools to cut. It's kind of rubbery so the knife edge would kind of catch it and just made it impossible to get a clean straight line. I read a review that said not to put this on the inside of your window if it's double paned so it is currently on the outside. I work in a dusty environment and the dust seems to stick to it. Also, the corners are peeling down already-again, it's on the outside of the window so I'm sure this makes a difference. ... show more

  • Easy to install and really blocks the sun
Used this product for the windows in my restaurant. Wanted to get rid of the blinds and this tint worked out perfectly. They are nice and dark provide lots of privacy, and block out the heat! During the day, no one can see through the window from an outside perspective. Our customers can now sit comfortably without being blinded by the sun! ... show more

  • Easy install than regular tint film
Finally installed it on a westerly facing windows. It is easier to use this film than regular car tint film because this is a much much thicker film, no glue, and less likely to crease during application. You can peel off spray more water and clean up and redo if you screw up. You should clean and prep the window glass like any tint job, cut the film to size first but leave extra space for trimming after installation. Spray window with soapy water, apply film, spray on the film and squeegee it like regular tint film. If you don’t get it right, peel it off, rinse it and redo. Very easy. The roll likes to stay rolled up so having someone help you when cutting it and applying to the window makes it easier. ... show more

  • Pass on this
I ended up with the window cracking. This stuff is NOT easy to work with and does not stay.

  • Good glare and heat reduction, be patient installing
Good product. Good video instructions - do not install without watching. You do not need to buy the Gila install kit. Use your own wash cloth, bowl of soapy water, squeegee, and a safe blade to trim. Take your time and start over often on the install. Use plenty of soapy water between glass and product. Work from top to bottom. The cloth and squeegee can each be used to smooth film and remove bubbles/creases. Once installed, the film is still see through with a good amount of glare and heat reduction. Clarity seeing through film is slightly reduced, but still fine. Some other films look mirror from the outside, this Gila film is dark black from the outside during the day. ... show more

  • Super cloudy
Didn't realize how cloudy this would be. Also super annoying that they don't include a 10 cent plastic squeegee with the order. Good value if you just want privacy and don't want to see out the window.
