  • One of the best value boards.
This has replaced the tough series as our go to boards. This has better VRM than the Asus Toff boards, even the x470 Tuff boards. In-fact the only difference between the Tuff B450 and X470 boards is the chipset and USB I/O, both have same VRM that is inferior compared to the Aorus series. I have about a dozen systems of each out in the wild now, and the only one I've had to repair under warranty is the Tuff series. The Gigabyte Aorus ones are just a better board. The feel more robust, heavier PCB, better VRM, integrated I/O shield (which the TUFF lacks), and none have died on us yet (compared to 2 of the ASUS boards that died in the first 5 months). Unless the customer request an x470/570 board this will be the center of most of our builds going forward. ... show more

  • Perfect board for a beginner
Though I’m still a rookie when it comes to computer builds, I wanted to build my first pc. My build consist of this Mobo, Ryzen 5 1600, MSI GTX 1050ti( upgrading to a 1660 or a 2060 soon). Now just this motherboard alone is a great one to start off, especially if your new because of the minimal RGB light since most flashy MOBOS are very expensive so I really got nothing else to say beside me RECOMMENDING this board. Although, as a heads up, the stand offs needed for the boards are not like your standard ATX board, YOU will have to move your stand offs orientation to match the screw points. And I guess another problem would be the BIOS as it seems a little complicated but then again I’m still new so I guess it’s just biased. When it comes to DDR4 memory, I noticed that some customers had issues that their memory was not at their optimal setting, which I did have the same issue, but in the BIOS, if you change the memory to XMP on and in Profile 1, it would max to it's recommended speed. I have 2x8G DDR4 ram at 3000mhz which when I first installed it, the Bios read it at 2666mhz but changing to XMP it read speeds at 3000mhz. Other than that, I highly recommend this board on the budget!!! ... show more

  • Good motherboard
I normally buy gigabyte motherboards. They are a good motherboard brand and make very stable motherboards. This is important for a motherboard, its the heart of your computer along with the CPU, you don't want a 'fast' motherboard or a 'gaming' one, you want a motherboard that is going to work well and be stable. Also gigabyte is good because their motherboards are reasonable in price and its a good value for what you get. All the features are fine, the bios is fine, I didn't install the software that came with it, but gigabyte gives you a lot of software and Norton internet security. It also has RGB lights which my computer doesn't have a glass case but it does sort of look cool and its subtle. Its not some ridiculous display of rgb lights like many computers. Supposedly motherboard manufactures including gigabyte are taking off pci express 4.0 because AMD requested it on all middle and lower end chipsets, so you might not want to keep that in mind 2 Caveats. 1. There are stickers on some of the components like the I/O panel and thermal guard. You might not notice it, its important to take these stickers off so they don't melt. Also the thermal guard can only be used once, it has a sticky adhesive but if you have to take it off , it won't stick again. 2. This is the first time I used a SSD card and you have to make sure that your SSD card can work. I thought m.2 was all I need to know, but there is M.2 pci-e and M.2 SATA. One of the M.2 slots is under the pci e lane for video cards which I don't think is a good spot. I had to return my ssd because the slot it could fit in didnt have a place for the screw holder that fit the ssd card but the other slot did, but that wasn't for the right type of interface. It seems like a bad design choice. Also depending on the m.2 slot, it actually shuts down some of your other sata devices. Although it explains this in the manual, so you want to check this before you buy. If you don't have a lot of sata devices it shouldn't be a big deal. You can read the manual online for free from their website. I give this 4/5 stars and highly recommend. It's a stable motherboard and a really good price. It has some flaws but no motherboard is perfect. ... show more
