  • My first DIY PC $460 build.
I think I made a great choice with this Aorus Elite B450. I added the Ryzen 3 2200G. This board has 6 temperature sensors which I think is nice feature. 4 RGB headers (2 are addressable) plus 2 rgb zones built onto the MB (one of those is the Falcon's Head) You can program them all differently with the RGB Fusion. i got 3 green fans 4 pins for $10.00. The fans do not change color but the 4 pins allows the speed to be adjusted. I like the placement of the 4 Drams. i put in 2 Patriot Vipers 3000mhz Red, they look awesome glowing off the RGB strip I installed. I am getting the 3000mhz without any overclocking. This MB holds 2 NVME M.2 SSD's which are so much faster than the 2.5 SSD's. 1 is PCIE Gen 3x4 and 1 is PCIE Gen 3x2. I bought the X2 before realizing the X4 was twice as fast as the X2 and 5 X faster than the 2.5 SSD's . Both are 256GB, one was $41.00 the other $45.00. Ended up using both but could have saved a chunk on this budget PC here. But this gives me 500 GB hard drive space all Solid State. I am using the StoreMI to combine the 2 drives. I may add my old 1TB HDD but I want to try to stick to all solid if I can. The Ryzen has a pretty good built in graphics card but i have to have 3 monitors so i put in my old 1050i. My old Dell had DDR3, Intel I7 4th gen (so not up gradable). DVD players are now old school. I do not know if it is mainly the NVME's but this new PC is so much faster and responsive. My windows 10 has done a couple of upgrades and done in like 30 seconds. The BIOS is awesome too, you can see the temperatures, what speed each fan is running at, what mhz your dram is doing, you can use f2 to toggle from easy mode to full mode. It is even easy to to overclock the system. I am an old fart so not that into gaming but I do a lot of graphics design. I am glad I made the switch to AMD from Intel. I am glad I went with the bigger mother board, I may need the extra PCI slots and DDRs later, I am sure I will use all 4 LED headers, I am thinking of hanging a LED clock on the wall and putting a small infinity mirror inside the case. So for $400.00 plus monitors you can build a nice up gradable gaming system. ... show more

  • Great price and nice features, but YMMV regarding a BIOS update
I bought this to use alongside an AMD Ryzen 7 3700x, and I saw that many people were experiencing some slight roadblocks concerning the need for a BIOS update - I decided to take the risk and got lucky, as my box came with the orange sticker saying "AMD Ryzen 3000 series ready", and the BIOS version F51, which is dated 12/20/2019 and supports this specific CPU. The motherboard has amazing 7.1 channel support (I came from using a PCI sound card, which was good in its own territory, but was also rather "noisy" signal wise), and fun LED's on the motherboard itself. The BIOS is also quite fancy and has some pretty good features from what I can tell, although I haven't explored it much. All in all, an amazing price, great features, but beware that a BIOS update may be needed in some cases, which requires another first or second generation (I believe) CPU in order to do so. ... show more

  • nice motherboard
I installed this motherboard in a new DIY desktop which I needed to replace my older DIY build that died a couple of weeks ago. I installed a Ryzen 5 2600 six-core CPU, 16 gb DDR4 2666 ram memory, Samsung EVO 860 500gb SDD (as a secondary drive) and reinstalled the primary SDD salvaged from my recently-deceased desktop. The board is slick and cool-looking, and one of my favorite parts is that the input panel that you see on the back of the case where everything plugs in is actually an integral part of the motherboard itself, not a snap-in stainless steel or metal insert that comes as an extra piece with the mobo. The back panel is black like the board and well-labeled and fits nicely, which makes for a much more professional look. All in all, in my opinion, a very good motherboard. It has everything I need for what I use it for. The only thing lacking would be a much better graphics card than the one I'm currently using which I also salvaged from the old desktop. Windows loads up in about 10-12 seconds ready to go, and everything works just you'd hope it would when you hit the power switch. ... show more
