These mower blades ended up fitting much better than expected and brought the cut quality back noticeably compared to the worn factory blades I replaced. The grass cuts cleaner, the deck throws clippings more evenly, and the mower seems to run smoother without the vibration that older bent or dull blades start causing over time. They work especially well for normal weekly mowing and handling thicker spring growth without leaving random stragglers behind. The metal thickness and overall finish feel more solid than some bargain replacement blades online. The edges arrived sharp out of the box, the balance felt consistent during installation, and the paint coating held up fairly well after the first few mowing sessions instead of immediately flaking off everywhere. The 5-point star mounting hole also lined up correctly without needing modification or forcing the fitment. Installation was straightforward for anyone already used to basic mower maintenance. Once tightened down properly, the blades seated securely and tracked smoothly during operation. What impressed me most was how much newer the mower felt afterward just from replacing worn blades that had slowly lost performance over time. Performance during thicker grass and uneven areas also improved more than expected. The mower seems to recover faster in heavy patches instead of bogging down as easily, and the cleaner cut leaves the yard looking more even overall. They also appear to bag and discharge clippings more efficiently compared to the old rounded blades I removed. Between the cleaner cutting performance, solid fitment, decent steel quality, smoother mower operation, sharp factory edge, improved grass discharge, easier installation, and overall value for the price, these replacement blades feel much more dependable and effective than many low-cost aftermarket mower blades online. They quickly become one of those maintenance upgrades that noticeably improves the entire mower once installed.

We received our old Craftsman lawn tractor second hand, a gift from someone who no longer needed one this large. I believe it came with aftermarket blades on it, and that's all we've ever bought, so I can't compare these to OEM blades, except for value for the money. These are definitely better in that regard. However, I can say they look the same as the aftermarket blades we've been using for years. They are the same length, curve, thickness, and five-pointed star as our current blades, and should fit as well. That star in the center is important - before ordering make sure your mower uses a FIVE pointed star in the center, not six, and not some other shape. I got these as replacements, to use if the current ones have a unfortunate encounter with a rock or something. They don't feel quite as sharp as the ones on the mower, but these still have the paint/powder coating on them. It will soon wear off once they are used. The mower manual recommends against sharpening blades, as it can be difficult for the home user to get the proper angle. Too steep and they don't cut well, too shallow and they dull too quickly. I have found that if you believe your mower isn't cutting the grass smoothly, you should check the drive belt. If it's slipping, even the sharpest of blades will do a poor job. Installation is fairly easy as these things go. There are several videos online that will show you how to do it. But you have to be very careful. Even if the mower blades don't feel very sharp they are plenty sharp enough to do serious damage. So can a mower that falls off a jack onto your head.

Ordered this set of mower blades as I am always replacing them. The two pack of blades comes wrapped in plastic. Used these on a Husqvarna Model YTH18542 Lawn Tractor. The five star mounting pattern lined up fine and installation was pretty simple. These blades seem to be more heavy duty than the prior ones on the tractor. Those rocks that creep out to the ground but are hidden by the grass seem to do a number on the blades. Grass clippings spread more evenly. Finished the lawn after installing these as the other ones were so bad, what a difference. Find these to be heavy duty and quality made. Pricing is similar to other blade sets purchased in the past. Do recommend.

I picked up these mulching blades for my mother in laws Husqvarna YTH1942 mower after wanting a better overall cut quality and I have been really happy with the results. Right away I noticed how well they handled grass, leaving a much finer clipping that helped feed the lawn instead of just sitting on top of it. The fit was perfect and installation was straightforward. They feel solid and well made in hand, and once installed they ran smooth with no vibration issues. The cutting performance has been consistently sharp, and I can tell the airflow design really helps when bagging because it pulls clippings up cleanly and fills the bag more evenly. I also appreciate that they are built from strong steel and hold their edge well after repeated use. The coating on the blade gave a little extra peace of mind during installation and wore off as expected once I started mowing. Overall these are a reliable upgrade that make mowing feel more efficient and leave the yard looking noticeably cleaner and healthier.

In the time of now, it is sometimes to keep older items and just keep tinkering with them rather than shelling out money for a newer model. This is the case for our old Craftsman Lawn Tractor that my husband and I use to mow our entire seven acres every summer. With how uneven and random our land is out here in rural America, damaging the blades on a hidden tree stump or challenging a large rock to a battle can damage the blades, so having a nice two-pack like this something that is useful idea, especially since town is over an hour away, one way. This two-pack of blades are sitting in our storage area where we can go retrieve things and items that we need for those awful scenarios do happen, but they are grand for the old mower. They are sharp, a high quality of blade, a perfect fit, easier to install than most other things in our lives and do so well mowing different types of terrain. All in all, this is a grand set of lawn mower blades to have to keep the old Craftsman Lawn Tractor working perfectly.

This Gicool mower blades are ready to use right out of the package. It features a 2 pack of pre sharpened, quality blades that are compatible with my 42-inch deck Husqvarna mower. The metal is thick and strong; the edges are sharp and hold their edge after several cuts. The blades slice grass clean leaving no jagged edges or uneven cuts. They give the lawn a nice smooth cut, nothing patchy. Installation is easy, a socket set or wrench is needed to set the 5-point star center hole up on the blade mount. Compared to other blades in the aftermarket these are a good price for a quality blade.
