Beautiful! And sturdy. I haven't had an issue with them chipping in the wash, or becoming scratched from cutlery. This is my first experience with stoneware, and I have to say I think it keeps the food warmer longer. The plates are curved up at the edges to keep food from sliding off. Very unique. Bought these plates skeptical that 1) they would actually look as nice as the pics, 2) they would hold their finish after a lot of use and 3) that I could use my microwave with that metallic rim. I was wrong about all my skepticisms! These plates look beautiful in person, I’ve had them for 6 months and NOTHING has started wearing on them (I always use a dishwasher), and they are definitely fine in the microwave! Unlike other reviews, I have not had any problems with scratches on the surface. We use Cutco knives that are extremely sharp and not one mark. They do well in dishwasher and have a nice weight to them. The plates and saucers have a slight edge that curves upward. ONE PROBLEM--the gold on the rim of some of them have developed spotty black marks. Not sure if it's the gold coming off or some type of oxidation. They did not arrive that way....it has developed over time (6 months) ... show more

These are very well made and the paint is so smooth. I haven't had any problems with either the cups or flatware, before I've had some that chip easily or the paint would suck in my tea and stain easily, but this hasn't done that... yet. We will see after longer use, but I feel like I've used them for quite some time already, at least 3 weeks. They do very well in the dishwasher too, I'm very impressed and they are so beautiful. ... show more

I had these dishes for a year and a half. They survived 2 moves, handwashing, a dishwasher, steak knives, and a lot of dropping. I love them so much I finally got another set, and I realize they shipped PLASTIC FREE. They arrived in completely cardboard packaging, no styrofoam or plastic. It's a good step towards sustainability. My only complaint is I wished they sold the grey with gold trim in separates. I could only find it in a whole set, but I didn't need any more mugs. ... show more

I was pleasantly surprised by the curves of the plates and how sturdy they felt. The kitchen is painted gray with white accents so I felt these would look aesthetically pleasing in comparison. Bought these for my mother- she loves them.
