The Columbia Men's Glennaker Rain Jacket appears to be well-loved by customers due to its versatility, reliability, and stylish design. Not only is it waterproof and wind-resistant, accommodating larger adults, but it also offers a range of vibrant colors to choose from. Should I Buy It?

Considering the overwhelmingly positive reviews and the coat's high quality, stylish look, versatility, and value for money, we'd recommend the Columbia Men's Glennaker Rain Jacket. Do note that additional layers may be required during colder weather given the thin material and lack of lining.

  • Excellent
This is an excellent lightweight jacket, well suited for cool days in early spring or fall. It keeps me dry in typical west coast weather. The fabric breathes enough that I don't feel too warm coming indoors. It looks good. I get compliments. I want a jacket that doesn't look junky. Glennaker just looks good. It fits well. I am medium-heavy build, 6 foot, and normally take men's XL. The Glennaker XL is a good loose fit. I can lift up my arms without the jacket riding up over my belly. The length in the torso allows me to relax. It's well made. The material and stitching is good. The zipper is simple and metal and doesn't catch on the fabric when you zip up. Don't you hate jackets that have fiddly zippers! This zipper is good. The hood is concealed inside the collar. Some jackets of similar design use fabric too heavy for the hood, so when you roll it up inside the collar, it stands up against the back of your neck. This one doesn't do that (unless I want it to, e.g., on windy days, zipped up all the way). I turn the collar down, and it stays down, and it's comfortable. The picture on your left is accurate in that regard. The inside pocket closes with velcro. If I could change one thing, it would be to move the pocket closer to the shoulder, but it's fine as is. (I tend to carry a lot of stuff in the pocket.) This is my favorite lightweight jacket. It packs flat and is very good value. I like it so much I bought another in a different colour for backup. Notice: The photograph for Mountain/Collegiate Navy is wrong. It should show navy shoulders and moss green torso. Hope that helps! ... show more

  • Roomy, comfortable, effective, easy to store
Color: Harvest/Shark Size: X-Large
I love this jacket. I couldn’t find a women’s jacket that was in this price point with all the same features, so I bought a mens. The hood stows away in its own little velcro pouch, the sleeves can be closed around your wrist, the waist also cinches in for added protection. The best of all is that is has an attached stuff sack for when it is dry, making it super convenient to throw in a backpack, diaper bag or a purse. It has a little extra room (I ordered a men’s XL) and there is plenty of room for layers underneath for colder weather. I would absolutely recommend this jacket to anyone! ... show more

  • Looks nice and made nice but arrives very wrinkled
The only way this jacket is going to look nice is if you iron it (use low setting). This is because it arrives in a small package you wouldn't believe holds a jacket. It's a rain jacket so wetting it will not take out wrinkles. It took me a good hour to iron mine (UGH!). The colors are lovely in the sun, but turned out to be a lot darker than they appeared on my PC screen, but not a big deal. The jacket seems to be made well, as all seems/stitching is done well and it has nice zipper closures on the pockets and has an inner phone 'pocket' too. The tuck away hood (folds into the collar) is practical, but I couldn't make the collar look nice with a hood inside it so I cut my hood off my jacket (I bought it as a windbreaker, not a rain coat). the collar looks much nicer now. It repels water very nicely. ... show more

  • Perfect wind breaker
This jacket really hold in your body heat and keeps out the wind and rain, when cool out and worn with normal clothing under. Light weight. The sleeves have velcro for your wrists to keep the wind out, the hood works best when you wear a cap, and tucks into collar when you don't need it. Had one before and lost it, so I had to get another because I liked it so much. I'm in southern Oregon and use it when I walk on the beach in mild temperature or with a tee shirt and long sleeve under when colder. Fits nice over other clothes. On windy day when it's warmer out works good with just a tee shirt under ... show more

  • Columbia Men's Glennaker Lake Rain Jacket Water proof , but not breathable enough
Color: Harvest/Shark Size: Medium
The jacket has done great thus far with not wetting out and holding off the rain however the breath ability and lack of venting other than the hand pockets hasn't proved to be enough to prevent a somewhat damp inside when used for a run. I find this to be the case with almost all shells I have owned. I have yet to find one that does both water proofing and breath ability really well. I am also unwilling to pay too much since they usually last a year or so. Construction wise it does appear to be well made. ... show more
