I was so excited to open up the package and unfortunately just as disappointed to discover so many flaws. Understandably if they’re hand painted and fired there are gonna be some imperfections in one of the photos you can see that the color just didn’t adhere to a small area. That I could except. However the chips and an even glazed surface of some of the pieces was just too much to overlook. In addition some of the pieces the bottoms were very very rough and I could see that they would actually scratch the plates if I stacked them. Was thinking of getting in contact with the company so much to tell them they need to have better quality control. If these items are being produced in China then they should be checked by a experienced quality control person before they are entered into the American market. On the other hand it could just be damage that this particular company doesn’t mind eating and using as a right off. I’m wondering if this is an American company just drop shipping from China. A lot of this is going on lately and so much of these products are junk I can’t even tell you how disappointed I am here and if I had known that this was going to happen I would never have even ordered these. As it stands too many products are being brought into Amazons market that aren’t really vetted properly. Too many products are coming in from China as I mentioned earlier and very poor condition. For example almost everything that you see on Facebook to purchase is made in China I do not purchase anything that I see on Facebook and I can’t even feel safe purchasing things on Amazon. ... show more

Love the vibrant color on this set. It’s heavy and I thought sturdy. One of the mugs was faulty - the handle was not set properly. Thank goodness I noticed a fault in the handle before dumping a steaming cut of tea on my lap. The rest of the mugs appear to be okay. I knew when I bought these that they weren’t going to be like the expensive department store sets, but the price is so good. They are going to chip easily, as cup was chipped and was replaced by Amazon in no time! I will just be careful with them. We use placemats on wood table so my table will not get chipped.
