Far superior to the Wllms Zonomah plates for which I paid twice as much (or more?; Wllms Zonomah dinner plates all break with even the most careful thermal management, even ordered 2nd set in case of defective--no, just garbage). THESE dinner plates are a good size, no huge pointless rim so they fit well into cabinets sideways and oh yeah INTO THE DISHWASHER...ahem. [recomposes self...] Punishing treatment of everyday life has only left a few knife marks, to be expected. No need to baby 'em. Absolutely in love with the color combination and quality. The bottom of the set is not glazed and may pick up oil marks or staining, but what does it matter when no one is going to be looking at the bottom of your plates anyhow? Edit: I've had this set of dinnerware for 6 months now. Here are some of the things I have noticed. - Silverware will leave visible marks but someone mentions in another comment that they are easily removed with a product called bar keepers friend. I have yet to try this, the marks truly do not bother me enough. - I do not have a dishwasher, everything I own is hand washed. I have never experienced this set scratching anything else due to the non-glazed bottom. Since it is non-glazed, I do not recommend putting this directly on an polished surface. It will cause scuffing. Don't be a uncultured swine, use table cloths or place mats if you're looking to protect an expensive finish. You can find them at second hand shops for less than a dollar if you're looking to be frugal. - I have not had any trouble with this set drying properly. I have never experienced water rings that another reviewer mentions. Either on my table or on the plate or bowl beneath it in it's stack. However, I do hand dry or air dry my dishes. I do not have a dish washing machine. - I still love this set. I'm even contemplating purchasing a second set, even though I am a mere one person show. ... show more

LOVE LOVE LOVE this set! This is white with black. I added the pic because there's a grey wave between the white and black (on the bowls), which I actually like better than what's shown on Amazon. They're stone, so not a true white or black, but again, I like it better. I've used them in the microwave, oven and put them in the dishwasher. They're thin, so they don't take too much space, and they're much lighter than past stone I've had. There are little black flecks that I keep trying to clean off (or pick up with my fork), but I'm sure I'll get used to them. Also, when I first unpacked the bowls, I was disappointed in the size. But no, they hold more than you'd think, they just have an uneven, wider lip that makes them seem small. And last, but not least, they're not boring white plates, but they're so subtle that the food is the star! Pictured: small plate and bowl. ... show more

I really love the style of this Gibson Elite Beckett stoneware set. The flatware and bowls have a great weight to them, and I completely fell in love with the dark gray/black gradient finish on the plates from my first order—it looked amazing and exactly what I wanted. Microwave and Dishwasher safe, I purchased them when the prices dropped and definitely worth the price. So far haven't chipped, durable. Unfortunately, I can’t give it a full 5 stars because when I ordered the set a second and third time, the glaze came in looking more glossy instead of the matte finish I originally received. Still a beautiful and stylish set overall, but the inconsistency in the glaze was a bit disappointing. ... show more

Love love love!! They are beautiful! I love the unique design of each. I’m glad they are not carbon copies of each other. I love how they are dull on the outside and shiny inside. I love how this set comes with both cereal bowls and pasta bowls NOT just one or the other. I love the neutral tones of the set itself. I hope my clumsiness does not break these dishes, but if it does I’ll just buy more!! Also to note! It came packed so snug and secure that it survived moving it in the box to two different addresses. These are really beautiful bowls. I bought them initially because I love the look of pottery and wanted plates with more of an edge to keep my rice dishes on the plate. They hold up well in the dishwasher and I really do love the size of the large dinner plates. My beef with this set is that they chip VERY easily. I tapped one of the bowls against the faucet while I was rinsing it out and it already chipped. You have to be really careful when stacking these in your cupboard because the uneven edges could easily catch on the natural grooves of the dish below it. Unlike some others have mentioned, I haven't had many issues with the unglazed bottom. The pottery has spots of moisture when I take them out of the dishwasher but they don't seem to create any condensation inside of the dishes when I put them away. For how much I paid for this set, I feel like I could have bought a nicer quality handmade set from CB2 or West Elm for maybe $20 more. I mean it's a nice dinner set and it feels like I'm one step closer to being a Real Adult™️, but I can see myself having to replace this in a year or two. ... show more
