Gorgeous set! I love the color of these dishes and the double bowl set. I don't need coffee mugs, I use my own so this was the perfect choice. Thick and sturdy. I love these dishes they are each a little different which I love. The color looks like denim and there is a brown hue along the rim of the plates and bowls. I also received some copper flatwear that compliments the dish set beautifully. I had these in my cart for over a year, I'm so happy I finally was able to get them. I purchased two sets of these dishes in Taupe, and am very, very happy with them. Both sets arrived without any broken pieces. Because of the reactive glaze, there are slight differences in some of the finishes, and I expected that - I like that aspect of it. The flatter bowls are great for salads and pasta, and the smaller bowls are awesome for soup, cereal, cottage cheese and just about anything else you might want to put in them. The dinner plates are very large and sturdy, and the salad plates the perfect size and very festive looking with the white tic marks. One of the salad plates was slightly smaller than the others, and missing all of the white tic marks - it looked like a mini dinner plate. I emailed Gibson thru their web site explaining the anomaly, asking if there was a way to purchase a single salad plate for the set. Set is less than a year old and the everything except the plates have held up. We have 3 of the 8 plates that have all developed chips around the edges of the plate from normal, adult use. Going to try and attempt to get them warrantied, but be aware they are fragile and don't hold up.

I love these plates. Came packaged securely w/ cardboard separators. Plates are smooth and weigh a little heavier than thin ceramic plates like Corelle. Shallow wide bowls are great for salads or Slices of Lasagna. Only complaint is the Soup bowls are a little small for Cereal. Fine for kids, but if you want a big bowl of cereal, buy different bowls. Otherwise, this set is exactly what I ordered and what's shown in the pictures. ... show more

We were looking to upgrade our old IKEA dishes so began our search online despite being a bit leery of not being able to see them in person. After being drawn to this particular pattern, I took in all the reviews, good and bad. I have to say I am so pleased with this choice! I gave "lightweight" a mid-ranking because there is some weight to these stoneware sets, which I wanted. Is every dish perfectly matching the other? No, but that's the style I chose and they still look great when setting a table - a nice artistic touch. Wanting place settings for 12, we ordered 4 sets at the same time and not one issue with the packaging when delivered. I especially love the dinner bowls as they are perfect for pasta or rices, and the plates have a perfect slope to them so if you have anything with sauces, its not running off. The taupe is warm, looks close to the pictures, and matches well with my greige kitchen. They have done well in the dishwasher also. I've had a lot of compliments! ... show more
