I loved these dishes. Just what I wanted design wise, but.... PROS: Solid dishes, beautiful design, mugs replaced with needed pasta bowls, shape of cereal bowls was good size and easy to hold. CONS: Very heavy, plates did not stack well, flat bottom did not allow for easy pick up - especially from upper microwave. They are also much bluer than shown in photos. If the plates were the traditional plate shape so I could get my fingers under them to pick them up, I would have kept them and adjusted to the weight. But, with arthritis and neuropathy in my hands, I could not handle them safely. Otherwise, they are an excellent choice for dishes. ... show more

I purchased two sets of these dishes in Taupe, and am very, very happy with them. Both sets arrived without any broken pieces. Because of the reactive glaze, there are slight differences in some of the finishes, and I expected that - I like that aspect of it. The flatter bowls are great for salads and pasta, and the smaller bowls are awesome for soup, cereal, cottage cheese and just about anything else you might want to put in them. The dinner plates are very large and sturdy, and the salad plates the perfect size and very festive looking with the white tic marks. One of the salad plates was slightly smaller than the others, and missing all of the white tic marks - it looked like a mini dinner plate. I emailed Gibson thru their web site explaining the anomaly, asking if there was a way to purchase a single salad plate for the set. I hadn't heard back yet via email, but FedEx delivered one to my door today (-: Great customer service and a nice surprise. ... show more
