I have been wanting these for over a year and finally pulled the trigger. These dishes are beautiful! Excellent quality that have not deteriorated after use. I am super careful to not break them. I wish they would just sell the plate separately as I really need more plates, but it’s too expensive to justify two whole sets for me, and I do not need that many bowls. I do love this set of dinnerware, but do have a word of caution if you plan on purchasing multiple sets. If you want multiple sets, you really should order them all at once. I first ordered 2 sets of service for 4 place settings of the “Gibson Elite Green Lantern Service for 4 (16 Piece) Double Bowl Dinnerware Set, Teal, Soft Gray, Dinnerware Set”. The first 2 sets arrived together very well packed in boxes with lovely color graphics on the boxes. I liked the dishes so much that I wanted to buy an extra set of 4 place settings, so I would have 12 of each in case some broke in the future. This third box came packed very well packed in a plain cardboard box, no color pictures, just information stamped on the box. It seemed that the third set was made in a different factory. The color of the bottom of the dinnerware of the third set is a lighter color (dark green) and the bottom of the first 2 sets is almost black. See photo of them stacked in the dishwasher for comparison. The color of tops of the dinnerware from all 3 sets are the same. I didn’t bother sending them back the third set because they are basically for backup. The dishes are very well packed for shipping (we live in a rural area, bumpy dirt roads, so I was impressed that no dishes arrived broken). Also, depending on your dishwasher, the dishes do take up more room in the dishwasher, but I’m okay with that. We’ve been using them for a month and no cut marks so far. As other people mentioned, they do get hot in the microwave, but that’s not un-manageable and food does look beautiful on them. ... show more

Looking for ceramic dishes is hard! So many brands and styles... I was into these large pasta bowls* and I choose gray* they are nice exactly as pictured. I see this trend in plates with the edge up which I didn't like. I also see ceramic sets with wonky or not shaped perfectly circular (which as someone who's played on a potter wheel) isn't what I wanted. This set is perfectly shaped. The gray is a bit different* which I think is why I choose it...if I CLD go back, I might* consider the boring old earthy brown color. I did think the sets* w/color variations* were cute. So it's personal. These came packed well and in perfect condition. They are heavy as well as pretty and the gray is unique, in my opinion. No issue in dishwasher. ... show more
