  • My favorite stings!
These strings are a great shot down the middle between flats and rounds. They are a little brighter and have more harmonics than flats, but still don't squeak, and are much easier on my fingers than rounds. I especially like them on my short-scale basses where a little brighter sound is welcome. Sure hope they keep making the SS versions. Easy on the frets too, which is why I run them on my Ric 4001 as well. Sound is good on that bass too...not as twangy as Roto's, but bright enough for me. ... show more

  • New favorite roundish -wound
Do you like Flats AND Rounds?? These are a great combination with many of the best features of both. The manufacturing process compresses a round wind nearly into flats. You get the openness of rounds (without the zing) with the fullness of flats (without the thud) and a surface that is much easier on your fingers than most rounds. Great job GHS! ... show more

  • Best strings ever?
Possibly the best bass strings I've used. A little easier on the fingers and the fretboard (which is what I wanted) and still has that bright roundwound sound. I liked flats but the sound from these is just so much better for rock.

  • Bright But Noisy
Smoother than round wound strings with plenty of growl. But if you are accustom to using flatwounds the string noise will be distracting.

  • One of my favorite strings if not my favorite
Probably the best combination of bright but not overly bright yet a bit smoother feel than a round wound so less unwanted string noise when fingers slide across strings.
