Tldr: buy it, it's worth it. I LOVE this thing. This is my second one, my old one is from the UK, I think I've had it probably 10 years, traveled with it, emigrated with it and it seems to have finally died (I'm hoping I can get it repaired). So I've tried a few other things in an attempt to streamline my styling process. Chief amongst which was one of those very expensive, very popular interchangeable dryer/curler/heat brush situations made by a very popular vacuum brand. You know what I mean. Now, the vacuum hairdryer does alright at drying, it will even curl my hair. It does not hold a candle to this thing. I dont care that I have to dry my hair first. This is still faster than the vacuum curler. I have genuinely butt length thick hair, it is dyed too, have been dying it upwards of 20 years, so the more I can do to take care of it the better. I blow dry my hair, spray it with that new no7 oil from the brand that has all their hair products as numbers, you know who I mean (you aren't allowed to name other brands in reviews on here, last I checked) and then once that has dried down it takes me half an hour to curl all of my hair. Half an hour. I have so much hair I have to do 3 or 4 layers per side, most people do two. Despite the length of my hair it curls all of it. I just grab it at the bottom (make sure you're clipping it the correct way, you want your hair to wrap around the barrel and then roll or wrap the same direction. Do not do what another reviewer did here and clip the hair one way around the barrel, wrap the other way and then complain there is a kink in your hair- yes, there would be, you folded you hair over on itself and applied heat) wrap, hold for a count of three, partially unravel and then open the clip and slide the hair out. You can hold longer if you want, I just don't want to scorch my hair. I brush through after as well. I do not use any hair spray. I do sleep with a bonnet. I do brush my styled hair daily. My curls look amazing and they hold for several days. The expensive vacuum dryer thing- curls wouldn't even hold for a night out, even if I didn't brush them through after. My hair also remains sleek and shiny using this (and the good heat protecting oil). I prefer this version over the newer one because the clip on this is metal, which gives it more slip for removal. The new version the clip part is textured and will grip your hair. As far as I can tell, that and cost are the only difference. Finally, this gives big bouncy curls, you can do a faux blow out with it (and on me it lasts longer than an actual blowout). It gives tons of movement and volume, way more if you have layers. Bought this October 2025. It’s now April 2026. That’s 6 months. It stopped working. I used it maybe 4 times during that timeframe. I didn’t travel with it. It’s sitting nicely in a cupboard in my bathroom. Would not recommend as despite it being a great brand there’s like no product support or warranty via Amazon. For $200 I would expect at least a year’s warranty. Really frustrated because I bought this one specifically because it’s supposed to be better quality ... show more

Perfect temperature! Does not fry my hair or leave it with that burnt smell. Curl lasts for days! However, the barrel is too short for someone with long hair. My hair falls middle to lower back and it’s just too short for me to get almost the whole length on the barrel.

I've tried 100s of different curling irons, but this one out performs all of them. It's extremely easy to use and it doesn't pull my hair out when I'm releasing the curl. The best for crating beach curls. The wand doesn't turn colors, like most do over time. The only downside is the is no different levels of heat. It's just off and on. The stable temperature control and ease of use on my naturally wavy hair provided great bounce and style without damaging my hair. It’s pricey, but the reviews were accurate and this is my go-to device for adding curl to my hair. In humid climates, my natural wave allows me to curl using only a blow dryer and a round brush. Not the same in drier Colorado, where my hair is straighter than ever!
