So I came across this type of chair that amazed me. You can rock in it, lean back or sit up straight in it. I was so enamored with the design after trying one, I got on Amazon and bought this one. So it gets here and I am immediately thrilled and then I opened it up. It is super short! Apparently I did not read the description clearly. Don't get me wrong it is super comfortable, it rocks, leans back and you can sit up straight on it like a regular super short chair. So as I am pondering this purchase in my living room my wife walks over, sits down and immediately tells me this is her chair now. She loved it! Don't get me wrong, this chair will work for grown men unless you want to sit at a table to play cards, eat dinner or whatever. If your a middle aged guy who wants to sit around a firepit enjoying some beverages and don't mind making those middle aged guy noises when you get up from this low sitting chair, then go for it. My family of 4 ranges in height between 5’5-6ft. The fire pit rocker chairs are comfortable but sit much lower to the ground than other rockers. We learned that the different names/types of chairs (I.e fire pit rocker, patio rocker, etc.) mean they sit in various heights from the ground. We actually don’t mind it and find them pretty comfortable. They are also easier to travel with since they are lighter and take up less room. I would recommend them for those of average height. If you are taller than 6ft, you may want to choose a rocker that sit up a bit higher. (Picture included is of a 5ft 10” person for reference) ... show more

It had been years since we've been camping. Took some time off when the kids were young and just started back up now that we're out of the diaper phase for good !! We were at Bass Pro, checking out new equipment and came across rocking camping chairs. I immediately decided that I was going to get one, but the one in the store didn''t have a cup holder. See, I just wanted to sit by the fire with my coffee and blanket and rock back and forth under the stars. I researched every camping rocking chair and settled on this one. Its perfect. The fabric is tight (no saggy bottom or back), the armrests are a comfortable height and padded, the cup holder fits my travel mug, and its folds easily (folds the same way as a wheel chair). I picked this design because the hydrolics that make the chair rock don't require a flat surface. The last thing I wanted was to feel a twing or tree root disrupting my rock. I will say its a little low to the ground. I am 5'4 and very comfortable in it, but my 6' husband would have his knees in his face. I broke it in by bringing it on a group camping trip. I ordered the fire pit rocker because I'm short (5’) and I'm tired of my feet not touching the ground and the circulation getting cut off in my legs, which hurts. This is the PERFECT height for me. It's higher than a beach chair which means it's still easy to get in and up out of but not as high as a regular chair. I may order a couple more. 😃 ... show more
