I did a lot of research prior to purchasing this ice maker. I knew I wanted nugget ice but I also wanted water line connection and to not spend a fortune. This ice maker makes perfect little nuggets pretty quickly. It is louder than a refrigerator but not terrible. I would liken the sound to a dishwasher. This is a large appliance so you need to plan for where it will go. I ended up putting it on top of my refrigerator and ran water to it by branching off of the refrigerator supply line. I still use my refrigerator ice maker when larger ice cubes are needed. The other thing to plan for is where to put all of the ice it makes. You can leave it in the ice maker but it will just melt. I tried the freezer but it freezes together and defeats the joy of soft nugget ice. So I keep a large bin with a lid in my refrigerator and keep it stocked with ice. The continuous water is awesome so I can just turn it on and off whenever I need more ice. I also added an inline filter to my water inlet to make the ice taste even better and hopefully prevent the need to do descaling.

UPDATE 2: After reaching out to the manufacture multiple times via email and the chat on their app no response was ever given. Amazon even tried to reach them and had no luck. Based on my experience I do NOT recommend buying anything from Gevi. UPDATE: bought this less than two months ago and it randomly started screaming at me when trying to make ice. Did all the things (defrosted, cleaned) nothing works. Now having to contact customer service and hope they are a good company! Had this for roughly a week now and it has been amazing! Followed all the set up instructions and it makes ice like a champ! It has run almost nonstop after opening and it performs so well! It is super quiet, sleek, fits on the counter top perfectly and the little cubes are pretty firm! It holds ice well inside the machine and it only cuts off when it’s out of water or the bucket is full. It’s hard not to chew on ice all day long! I don’t know how I lived with out this machine before now!

I’ve been using this more several months now. It produces fantastic “Sonic” ice. We fill a few gallon ziplock freezer bags at a time to have extra on hand all the time. But honestly the ice is best coming straight out of the machine when it’s pretty soft and easy to chew. It’s a game changer. We purchased the white color. Since it stays out on our countertops, the white blends more naturally next to our white cabinets. Glad they had an option of white, black or stainless to fit personal preferences. You will hear it running but it’s truly not loud at all, maybe a pinch more noticeable than the dishwasher running. I read lots of reviews different models and people talking about how loud some models were. That has not been my experience at all. I did purchase an extended warranty since countertop ice makers haven’t been around long. There was a pretty significant coupon on this model on Amazon when I purchased so I used that to justify getting the warranty - it’s nice piece of mind, imo. Lastly, make sure to double check measurements! It’s a pretty large unit. There were other models that were slightly too tall to fit under my cabinets. This model fits with room to spare and I believe the manufacturer recommends 6” clearance on each side for proper ventilation, which you will definitely want to adhere to. Finally always used a filtered water to prolong the life of the machine. Go ahead and buy some descaling solution for regular cleaning maintenance. It’s an investment in an appliance and once you are spoiled with “Sonic” ice at home everyday, you will want to make sure your machine is well taken care of. Definitely worth the investment!

First off I’ll be fair and say that every time this machine failed, and by every time I mean 4 times in less than a year, the company did replace the machine at no extra cost to me. However, all that being said the machine broke 4 times. I kept up with de-scaling it every two weeks and it was setup in a well ventilated area. Ultimately it make great ice but if you want to save time and head ache don’t buy this machine.

I bought the ice maker as a present for myself on my birthday and not only me but all the people that visited my home felt in love with it, to the point that my fridge ice maker was never used again. But a month before the year the ice maker stop working, I was so sad, but contacted the company and they explained step by step what to do and how to send them the information they were asking for to see what was going wrong with it after I did what they told me, they replied right away telling me they were sending a new one. Not only the product is wonderful but it was such a pleasure dealing with the company, I recommend both100%, the only bad thing is that when you start using it you will never want anything else. I give the company and the ice maker 5 stars. I know that mine didn’t lasted long but things happens and everyone I know that have one have never had any problems and they have had it for a really long time.
