Pump is as advertised, simple operation and very light to carry. The motor is exceptional quiet and is very fuel efficient. If you are looking for a 2 inch pump this is the one for you. Negative, the fuel shut off label can be a little confusing.

The pump worked great the first 3 times I used it. It was strong enough to pull water a considerable distance. After sitting about 1 week I was unable to pull start the pump. It was seized up. Out of the box, the Generac CW20K pump has several issues due to low-quality hose clamps, threaded pipe fittings, poor quality hose gaskets, and the suction hose. This results in leaks which are detrimental to performance. After I added Teflon tape (5 wraps) to hose fitting threads, added additional quality hose clamps, and eliminated air leaks I was able to use the pump as designed. I get the idea Generac designers don't use their products in the field. The provided suction hose is almost impossible to get a tight seal due to the poor quality hose clamp provided with the reinforced spiral wire suction hose. The hose gaskets are too small in diameter for a good seal. These low-quality components make priming extremely difficult. By adding 1 & 1/2" diameter ABS to the discharge pipe, Teflon tape to all those threads, adding additional quality hose clamps to both suction and discharge hose I was able to eliminate leaks and ger pump to work as designed, although priming still not ideal. Keeping both hoses as level as possible is very important, which is difficult with the curled suction hose out of the box. I was able to finally get the pump to work after all the Mickey Mousing around with the manufacturer's poor quality accessory parts. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I've used this pump for less than a year and run approximately ten tanks of fuel through it. I noticed it was losing prime and upon investigation, I found the back side of the pump housing had water spraying out of it onto the engine. This has only pumped water and has a suction screen to avoid anything going into the pump. I opened the pump to investigate and found part of the housing has vibrated and gouged itself into the aluminum housing. This part of the housing is supposed to have an aluminum tab to index it and lock it into place, but that had apparently failed. This is wildly disappointing as the leaks are coming right from the area worn away by the pump's own components. Needless to say, this is a huge disappointment. ... show more

    • They do not stand behind their product...
We have bought two of these two in pumps both broke recoil. The company would not stand behind their products being they said we didn't register even though I have a receipt for proof of purchase they did not and will not do anything for me highly recommend you find a different pump these generic pumps are absolutely generic and junk with poor customer service you end up with a $300 pile of junk. ... show more
