Definitely order a size bigger than your pants size. I ordered Medium first but had to reorder Large. My pants size is labeled 34w, but my physical measurement is about 39”. The Large (38 - 40) belt measures 44 inches at the first hole with 4 inches of extra belt. There are 7 holes that are 1 inch apart, so it could be for a physical waist measurement of 37 to 44 but ideally 39 to 42. The first belt I ordered was Medium (34-36) and is indeed 4 inches shorter, so it matches my pants size but I could only buckle it at the first (largest) hole. It should be for a physical waist measurement of 33 to 40 inches but ideally around 35 to 39. Don’t go with your pants size. Measure your waist to buy these belts. You can probably expect the sizes that I didn’t order to be 4 inches different from mine since they are written that way and mine are exactly 4” different.
