While they are not as soft as the regular sized pillows I had they are better because they are soft enough and provide better support for my neck and head. No waking up with aches and pains. If you like soft pillows this is the pillow for you. Oh, and I did put 1 pillow in the dryer on low for 20 minutes and it definitely fluffed it up quite a bit.
